Their photonics-based compute system is being built to tackle some of the toughest workloads out there - think AI at scale - and they're now building out the team that will make it all run. That's where you come in. As a newly formed Architecture group takes shape, they need someone who can own the compiler tooling end-to-end - bridging real-world applications with genuinely novel hardware. This isn't tweaking an existing toolchain; it's specifying and building compiler technology for a computing paradigm that doesn't have a well-worn playbook yet. What we're after:✅ 10+ years in industry, with deep C/C++ and Python experience✅ Solid understanding of compiler internals✅ Hands-on experience with MLIR and LLVM✅ A track record with compiler optimisation strategies✅ Knowledge of SoC and memory architectures✅ Comfortable writing specs, test plans, and communicating with both technical and non-technical audiencesWhat's in it for you?💰 Competitive salary, £80k–£100k🏥 Comprehensive healthcare plan💼 Pension matching🌴 Generous time off🎯 Annual performance-based bonus🚀 A genuine ground-floor seat on a technology that's still being definedYou'll be mentoring engineers, shaping how the system gets debugged and verified pre-tapeout, and directly influencing the metrics the whole team is judged on. If you've ever wanted to build a compiler for hardware that doesn't play by the usual rules, this is about as blank-canvas as it gets.Sound like your kind of challenge? We'd love to hear from you.
