The role will oversee technologies such as conductive and dielectric inks, printed sensors, flexible circuits, printed transistors, antennas, displays, heaters, RFID/NFC components, and other printed electronic devices.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement printed electronics technology and product-development strategies.Lead printed electronics programs from research and concept development through prototyping, scale-up, qualification, and commercialization.Define technical roadmaps for printed electronic materials, processes, equipment, and applications.Evaluate emerging printed electronics technologies and identify commercially relevant opportunities.Lead development of printed conductive, dielectric, semiconductive, resistive, magnetic, and functional materials.Evaluate inks, pastes, coatings, substrates, adhesives, encapsulants, and other functional materials.Develop and optimize printing processes including screen printing, inkjet printing, gravure, flexographic printing, aerosol jet, spray coating, and related technologies.Establish process parameters for printing resolution, layer thickness, conductivity, adhesion, uniformity, curing, and repeatability.Coordinate development of flexible, stretchable, thin-film, and conformal electronic structures.Lead design and development of printed sensors, circuits, antennas, electrodes, heaters, RFID/NFC devices, and other electronic components.Coordinate integration of printed electronic components with conventional electronic components, PCBs, semiconductors, batteries, displays, and mechanical systems.Establish design-for-manufacturing and design-for-printing principles.Develop material and process specifications for production.Lead prototype development, laboratory trials, pilot production, and manufacturing scale-up.Establish experimental plans, design-of-experiments programs, and process optimization activities.Analyze electrical, mechanical, thermal, optical, chemical, and environmental performance.Develop testing and characterization methods for printed electronic materials and devices.Coordinate reliability testing including bending, stretching, abrasion, humidity, temperature cycling, thermal exposure, and environmental aging.Establish product qualification and validation requirements.Lead root-cause investigations for printing defects, electrical failures, adhesion problems, cracking, delamination, and process variation.Develop corrective and preventive actions for material and manufacturing issues.Work with Manufacturing Engineering to establish scalable production processes and equipment requirements.Evaluate printing equipment, curing systems, inspection technologies, automation, and process-monitoring solutions.Develop manufacturing layouts, process flows, equipment specifications, and production requirements.Establish process-control plans and critical-to-quality parameters.Implement statistical process control and data-driven manufacturing improvement.Coordinate inline inspection, machine vision, electrical testing, and automated quality-control systems.Manage external material suppliers, printing-equipment suppliers, laboratories, research organizations, and manufacturing partners.Define supplier technical requirements, qualification criteria, specifications, and performance expectations.Monitor supplier quality, material consistency, delivery performance, and technical support.Support sourcing and qualification of conductive inks, substrates, functional coatings, and other critical materials.Assess material availability, supply risks, cost, sustainability, and scalability.Manage intellectual property, technical documentation, specifications, process recipes, and development records.Establish configuration control for printed electronics designs, materials, processes, and production parameters.Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Marketing, Commercial, and Operations teams to translate customer requirements into technical solutions.Support customer demonstrations, technical proposals, pilot projects, and product launches.Evaluate printed electronics applications across consumer electronics, healthcare, automotive, industrial, packaging, IoT, wearables, energy, and smart-surface applications.Develop technology demonstrators and proof-of-concept products for new applications.Manage research and development partnerships with universities, laboratories, and technology companies.Identify opportunities for automation, digital process monitoring, machine learning, and intelligent manufacturing.Evaluate sustainability improvements including low-temperature processing, material efficiency, reduced waste, recyclable substrates, and environmentally responsible materials.Establish technical training programs for engineering, manufacturing, quality, and operations teams.Ensure printed electronics processes meet applicable safety, quality, environmental, and regulatory requirements.Manage program budgets, development resources, schedules, technical risks, and commercialization milestones.Provide leadership with regular reports covering technology materials, functional printing, thin-film electronics, advanced manufacturing, or electronic product development, preferably within a technology, semiconductor, consumer electronics, automotive, healthcare, industrial, or advanced-materials environment.The candidate should demonstrate:Strong understanding of printed and flexible electronics technologies.Experience with conductive, dielectric, semiconductive, resistive, or other functional inks and materials.Practical knowledge of screen printing, inkjet, gravure, flexographic, aerosol jet, or related printing technologies.Experience developing printed circuits, sensors, antennas, electrodes, heaters, RFID/NFC devices, or similar electronic structures.Strong understanding of electronic, mechanical, thermal, and materials characterization.Experience with flexible and stretchable substrates and electronic integration.Knowledge of curing, sintering, drying, annealing, coating, and surface-treatment processes.Experience developing and scaling laboratory processes into pilot or commercial manufacturing.Strong knowledge of design-of-experiments, process optimization, statistical process control, and root-cause analysis.Experience with reliability testing and accelerated environmental testing.Strong understanding of electronics manufacturing and quality-control processes.Experience managing material suppliers, equipment vendors, laboratories, and technology partners.Strong project-management and technical leadership skills.Ability to evaluate technical feasibility, cost, scalability, and commercialization potential.Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.Excellent communication and technical-reporting skills.Ability to manage multidisciplinary engineering and manufacturing
