Privacy Program Specialist / Analyst (Data & AI Readiness)

Pay Rate: $66.42hour, depending on experienceContract Length: 12 MonthsLocation: Calgary, AlbertaRaise is currently hiring a Privacy Program Specialist / Analyst (Data & AI Readiness) on behalf of our client. They’re expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader. Our Client, is a major Canadian airline.Note: The primary pay rate is based on T4 classification; however, we will also consider applications from candidates interested in an INC classification, where applicable.DescriptionThe Privacy Specialist in this role will support the design, implementation, and operationalization of our privacy program and privacy governance capabilities. As part of a strategic program advancing our clients Data and AI Readiness, this role works closely with the Privacy Officer, Program Manager, and external privacy consultants. You will help identify and remediate privacy capability gaps, strengthen the handling of personal information, and support the development of privacy processes, controls, policies, and operating models. Your contributions will directly improve regulatory compliance and reduce privacy risk as we build a robust Privacy Foundation.Responsibilities Support the evaluation and RFP process for Consent Management tool(s).Document governance and accountability frameworks.Conduct and support Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs), privacy reviews, and data mapping initiatives.Drive policy reviews and help build privacy incident management processes.Support privacy-protected data initiatives (e.g., data minimization, retention, and privacy-by-design practices).Translate complex regulatory requirements into structured business requirements, process maps, and operating models.Qualifications5+ years of experience in Privacy, Data Protection, Compliance, Information Governance, Risk Management, or Business Analysis roles.Demonstrated hands-on experience supporting enterprise privacy programs, regulatory compliance initiatives, or privacy governance implementations.Proven background in performing or supporting PIAs, DSARs, data mapping, privacy risk assessments, and compliance reviews.Experience developing and documenting privacy processes, controls, policies, and executive-ready operating models.Technical & Functional Knowledge (Must Haves)Strong knowledge of privacy regulations and privacy management practices, including GDPR, PIPEDA, and other applicable frameworks.Solid understanding of data protection principles, consent management, data minimization, data retention, and privacy-by-design practices.Strong business analysis skills: requirements gathering, process mapping, and stakeholder facilitation.Strong written communication skills with a proven track record of creating executive-ready documentation, recommendations, and governance materials.Ability to work effectively across legal, technology, security, data, and business stakeholder groups.Exceptional interpersonal skills with experience bridging gaps between business, technology, security, legal, and compliance teams.Thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment supporting new strategic initiatives.Able to identify gaps independently and propose actionable, risk-mitigated solutions.Nice-to-Haves Experience within large, regulated organizations or complex enterprise environments.Hands-on familiarity with Consent Management Platforms (CMPs), preference management, or cookie consent solutions.Experience with privacy incident management and breach response processes.Exposure to advanced data techniques: synthetic data, data masking, de-identification, anonymization, or Privacy-Enhancing Technologies (PETs).Familiarity with Data Governance, AI Governance, or Responsible AI programs.Background in airline, travel, financial services, or other highly regulated industries.Education and CertificationsUnderlying educational or functional foundation in Business Analysis, Law, Information Technology, Risk Management, or a related discipline supporting enterprise privacy and regulatory compliance.Relevant privacy certifications (considered a strong asset),CIPP/C (Certified Information Privacy Professional / Canada)CIPP/E (Certified Information Privacy Professional / Europe)Or equivalent privacy credentials.Additional RequirementOur client asks that candidates provide 2 Endorsements/References at the time of application: ( this could be a colleague/manager that worked with you on Recent Projects that relate to this role Ask them to provide a Quick Endorsement - testimonial in point form of your accomplishment / value added) to highlight your skills for this roleLooking for meaningful work?
