Services include virtual and in-person tutoring across all K–12 subjects, adult tutoring, study skills, and test preparation. Roses Tutoring also offers music lessons taught by experienced musicians, IEP and 504 consultation for families of students with special needs, and group learning pods for small cohorts of learners.Role Description The Tutor role at Roses Tutoring is a full-time, on-site position based in Pasadena, CA. In this role, the tutor provides individualized and small-group instruction in core academic subjects such as reading, writing, math, science, foreign languages, and study skills. Daily responsibilities include planning and delivering engaging lessons, assessing student progress, adapting instructional strategies to diverse learning needs, and maintaining clear communication with families and caregivers. The tutor may also support learners in test preparation, collaborate on IEP and 504-related goals with families, and help facilitate learning pods and enrichment activities.Qualifications Strong instructional skills in core academic areas (e.g., reading, writing, math, science, foreign languages) and the ability to differentiate teaching approaches.Experience in tutoring or classroom teaching, including planning lessons, assessing student progress, and managing small groups.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with students, families, and colleagues in a supportive, inclusive manner.Ability to support study skills development and test preparation, with a focus on building learner confidence and independence.Familiarity with special education concepts, IEPs, and 504 plans, or willingness to learn and collaborate with families on individualized goals.Comfort working with diverse age groups, including K–12 students and adult learners, and maintaining a positive, stress-reducing learning environment.Bachelor’s degree in Education, a subject area, or a related field; relevant teaching credentials or tutoring experience are preferred.Ability to work on-site in Pasadena, CA, with consistent punctuality, reliability, and professional conduct.
