80% to 100% - immediately (all genders) at flō Optics Brugg AG near Zurich and BaselYour new companyWe are a group of inkjet technology experts with a shared passion for innovation, driven by mastery in Digital Printing and Additive Manufacturing.flō is on a mission to transform the ophthalmic lens coating production process through our proprietary technology, providing immense value to ophthalmic laboratory manufacturers.What you’ll doDevelop inkjet printing technology for specialty coatings on ophthalmic lenses - from first concept to production-ready process.Design, perform, and analyze printing experiments - turn measurement data into robust, repeatable processes.Define and optimize process flows and parameters across the entire jetting and curing chain.Characterize ink–substrate interactions (wetting, leveling, curing, adhesion) on curved optical surfaces.Transfer validated processes into production - document recipes, specifications, and process windows.Define requirements and interfaces of coating and printing materials in close collaboration with material scientists and suppliers.Work in multidisciplinary teams (mechanics, controls, chemistry, and production) to bring the technology to market.Minimum qualificationsM.Sc. in Physics, Materials Science, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering.3+ years of experience as a process researcher or process development engineer.Ability to lead multiple tasks under demanding timelines without losing sight of the details.A team player who communicates clearly across disciplines.Fluent in English, both verbal and written.A fast and self-driven learner, comfortable in uncharted territory.Nice to haveExperience in the printing industry – a significant advantage.Experience in the optical / ophthalmic industry.Hands-on experience with DoE and statistical data analysis.Familiarity with inkjet printheads, ink rheology, or UV-curable materials.How we workOn-site, hands-on environment; you’ll juggle multiple internal projects as a focused individual contributor.Multi-disciplinary and teamwork environmentSelf-sufficient, resourceful, and comfortable turning ideas into robust, production-ready processes.What to expectAt flō you will find a dynamic and innovative environment that recognizes your achievements.
