Job Description – Process Engineer – Sheet Metal (NPD)Company: Violin Technologies Private Limited – Unit 5

Department: New Product Development (NPD)Commodity: Sheet MetalExperience: 3–5 YearsQualification: B.E./B.Tech – Mechanical / Production / Manufacturing EngineeringJob SummaryResponsible for developing and validating sheet metal manufacturing processes for new products, ensuring manufacturability, quality, cost, and timely launch from prototype to mass production.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and validate sheet metal processes including laser cutting, punching, bending, welding, and fabrication.Review 2D/3D drawings, GD&T, material specifications, and customer requirements for manufacturability.Conduct DFM/DFA reviews and provide process feasibility inputs during NPD.Develop Process Flow, PFMEA, Control Plan, SOPs, and Work Instructions.Coordinate prototype development, trial runs, process validation, and production readiness.Design and validate jigs, fixtures, gauges, and tooling for new components.Support PPAP, first-off inspection, capability studies, and process approval.Identify and resolve process issues, dimensional deviations, rejection, and rework through RCA and corrective actions.Work closely with NPD, Quality, Production, Tooling, Purchase, and Suppliers to ensure timely project launch.Drive cost reduction, cycle-time improvement, productivity, and continuous improvement initiatives.Required SkillsStrong knowledge of sheet metal manufacturing and fabrication processes.Good knowledge of GD&T, engineering drawings, and tolerance stack-up.Hands-on experience in DFM, PFMEA, Control Plan, PPAP, and process validation.Knowledge of AutoCAD/SolidWorks or equivalent CAD software.Good problem-solving, analytical, and cross-functional coordination skills.Exposure to Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and 8D/RCA will be an advantage.
