Process Improvement Engineer

Job DescriptionLead and facilitate Kaizen events, value stream mapping exercises, and Lean/Six Sigma improvement projects across production linesIdentify sources of waste, variation, and inefficiency using DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyse, Improve, Control) methodologyCollect, analyse, and interpret process and quality data using statistical tools (SPC, capability analysis, hypothesis testing, DOE)Develop and implement standard work, visual management systems, and process control plansDrive root cause analysis for quality defects, scrap, downtime, and non-conformancesPartner with production supervisors and operators to implement 5S, TPM, SMED, and other Lean tools on the shop floorTrack and report key performance indicators (OEE, first-pass yield, cycle time, defect rates, cost savings)Train and coach employees at all levels on Lean Six Sigma principles and toolsSupport new product introduction and process design with a continuous improvement mindsetManage improvement project pipelines, ensuring projects are prioritised, resourced, and completed on scheduleCollaborate with quality assurance to align improvement initiatives with ISO/IATF and other applicable quality management standardsPrepare and present project results, cost-benefit analyses, and improvement recommendations to plant leadershipProduction process improvementGood knowledge of business process improvement and implementing different softwaresKey CompetenciesAnalytical and data-driven decision-makingStrong ownership and accountability for project outcomesAbility to lead change management on the shop floorAttention to detail balanced with big-picture process thinkingCollaborative, coaching-oriented leadership stylePreferred QualificationsB.Tech in Industrial / SimilarLean & Six Sigma Qualification from IASSC / ASQ / EquivalentExperience in manufacturing/fabrication industriesFamiliarity with ERP/MES systemsWorking knowledge of ISO 9001 / IATF 16949 quality management systemsExperience with automation, robotics, or Industry 4.0 initiativesResponsibilitiesResponsible for plant operations and personnel activities for production output.Responsible to ensure production as per customer specifications.Responsible for on-time delivery of products.Responsible for ensuring inventory stock.Responsible for equipment maintenance.Responsible for quality control checks.Responsible for implementation of production line methods.Responsible for ensuring adequate manpower to avoid hindrance to production.Responsible for managing human resources at floor level.Plan, direct, regulate, and coordinate functions at the shop floor.Do quality checks to ensure manufacturing of products in accordance with cost, quality and quantity specifications.Do material and manpower planning.Supervise work activities to ensure personnel are working properly and safely.To feed data in computer for plasma cutting with QC checks.Communicate with customer for deviation/clarification if any.Maintain tag list and production documents.
