Process Technician 3

As a Process Technician 3, you will work closely with Process Development and Engineering teams to develop, implement, optimize, and sustain manufacturing processes for Monarch Quantum's photonic "engines." This is a highly hands-on role supporting prototype builds, process development, equipment operation, troubleshooting, and transition of processes toward production.You will operate and support a variety of precision manufacturing and laboratory equipment, execute engineering-directed processes, collect and document process data, and help identify opportunities to improve process capability, equipment performance, quality, and manufacturing efficiency.The ideal candidate has strong hands-on experience with semiconductor, electronics, photonics, or precision manufacturing processes and is comfortable working directly with engineers to develop and refine processes and equipment. This role may also serve as a technical resource and subject-matter expert for specific manufacturing equipment or processes.Key ResponsibilitiesExecute, develop, and optimize manufacturing processes under the direction of Process Development and EngineeringOperate, troubleshoot, and maintain precision manufacturing and laboratory equipmentSupport processes including die attach, wire bonding, soldering, reflow, cleaning, inspection, curing, and other photonic/electronic assembly operationsSet up equipment, fixtures, tooling, materials, and process parameters for engineering builds and prototype manufacturingDevelop and adjust equipment parameters and process settings to achieve required performance and qualityAssist engineers with process development experiments, DOE activities, process characterization, and prototype buildsCollect, record, and analyze process data to support process development and continuous improvementIdentify equipment, tooling, material, and process issues and work with engineers to determine root causes and corrective actionsPerform preventive maintenance, basic calibration, equipment checks, and troubleshooting activitiesSupport equipment installation, qualification, validation, and implementation of new manufacturing processesMaintain process documentation, work instructions, equipment procedures, and process recordsInspect assemblies and work products to verify compliance with engineering requirements and specificationsSupport material preparation, inventory management, kitting, receiving, and laboratory organizationMaintain cleanroom and laboratory areas in accordance with cleanliness, ESD, safety, and contamination-control requirementsTrain and mentor junior technicians on equipment operation, manufacturing processes, and laboratory practicesServe as a subject-matter expert for assigned equipment and processesCollaborate closely with Process Development, Mechanical, Electrical, Optical, and Manufacturing Engineering teamsSupport transition of processes from engineering development into repeatable manufacturing processesParticipate in continuous improvement activities focused on yield, cycle time, process capability, equipment utilization, and manufacturing efficiencyOther duties as assignedRequirementsExperienceAssociate degree in a relevant technical field, or equivalent combination of education and hands-on technical experience8+ years of relevant experience in semiconductor, photonics, electronics, precision manufacturing, or a similar technology-focused environmentDemonstrated hands-on experience operating and troubleshooting precision manufacturing equipmentExperience working directly with engineers in prototype, R&D, process development, or low-volume manufacturing environmentsStrong ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, work instructions, and technical documentationDemonstrated ability to work independently while effectively communicating with engineering and manufacturing teamsExperience working in cleanroom, laboratory, or controlled manufacturing environmentsPreferred SkillsHands-on experience with die attach and wire bonding equipmentExperience operating and maintaining die bonders, wire bonders, reflow equipment, plasma systems, curing/bake ovens, or other precision process equipmentExperience developing and adjusting equipment parameters and basic machine programsExperience with semiconductor, RF, laser, photonics, or microelectronics assembly processesExperience with manual and automated die attach processesExperience with gold and/or aluminum wire bondingExperience with soldering and rework of electronic assembliesExperience performing destructive testing such as wire pull and die
