The Procurement Assistant supports the purchasing function by preparing and processing purchase orders, maintaining accurate records, and tracking deliveries. The role involves coordinating with suppliers and internal stakeholders to obtain quotations, compare offers, and ensure timely availability of materials and services. The Procurement Assistant reviews inventory requirements, assists in vendor evaluation, and supports cost optimization initiatives. The role also includes updating procurement databases, resolving basic discrepancies in orders or invoices, and ensuring compliance with company policies and quality standards.Qualifications Ability to prepare, review, and manage purchase orders with attention to accuracy and timely follow-up.Solid analytical skills for comparing quotations, tracking costs, and monitoring inventory or material requirements.Effective communication skills for working with suppliers, internal departments, and cross-functional teams.Working knowledge of MS Office and procurement or ERP systems; familiarity with Excel-based reporting is an advantage.Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Commerce, Business Administration, or a related feild prefered.Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple purchase requests in a fast-paced industrial environment.Prior experience in manufacturing, engineering, or rail-related industries is an added benefit.
