Role Description The Director at the IEEE Computer Society SEU Student Branch Chapter is a full-time, on-site role based in the Dallas–Fort Worth Metroplex. The Director oversees chapter operations, including planning and executing events, coordinating workshops and seminars, and ensuring alignment with IEEE Computer Society guidelines. This role involves managing committees, mentoring student leaders, and building partnerships with faculty, industry professionals, and other IEEE chapters. The Director is responsible for strategic planning, membership engagement, budgeting, and reporting on activities and outcomes. Day-to-day tasks include meeting with stakeholders, organizing and reviewing program schedules, handling communications across digital platforms, and promoting chapter initiatives within the university community.QualificationsLeadership and organizational skills, including experience managing teams, coordinating projects, and overseeing student or volunteer initiatives.Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage students, faculty, and external partners, and present information clearly in meetings and events.Background or strong interest in computer science, information technology, or related fields; familiarity with IEEE standards and activities is an advantage.Experience in event planning or program management, including scheduling, logistics, budgeting, and post-event evaluation.Ability to work on-site full time in the Dallas–Fort Worth Metroplex, manage multiple priorities, and collaborate effectively in an academic environment.Bachelor’s degree (or current enrollment in a degree program) in a relevant discipline; prior involvement in student organizations or professional societies preferred.
