Role Description The Director role at Indian Immunologicals Limited is a full-time, on-site position based in The Nilgiris. The Director will provide strategic leadership for operations, oversee vaccine and biologicals production, and ensure adherence to quality, regulatory, and safety standards. Daily responsibilities include guiding cross-functional teams, optimizing manufacturing and supply chain performance, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives across veterinary and human health product lines. The Director will collaborate with senior leadership on long-term business planning, drive innovation in processes and technologies, and strengthen stakeholder relationships, including government bodies, partners, and international clients. The role also involves monitoring market trends, supporting new product introductions, and ensuring alignment with IIL’s mission of affordable and safe vaccines.QualificationsCandidates should possess strong leadership and people management skills, including team development, cross-functional collaboration, and decision-making capabilities.Candidates should possess expertise in operations and supply chain management, including manufacturing oversight, process optimization, and cold chain logistics.Candidates should possess knowledge of quality assurance and regulatory compliance, particularly in vaccines, biologicals, and pharmaceutical or biotech environments.Candidates should possess strategic planning and business management skills, including budgeting, performance monitoring, and long-term growth planning.Candidates should possess strong analytical, problem-solving, and risk management skills, with the ability to interpret data and drive evidence-based improvements.Advanced degree in life sciences, veterinary science, pharmacy, medicine, biotechnology, or a related discipline is preferred; an additional management qualification (e.g., MBA or equivalent) is beneficial.Relevant senior leadership experience in vaccines, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, or healthcare manufacturing is highly desirable, including experience in large-scale plant or multi-site operations.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to engage with internal and external stakeholders, and a commitment to ethical, inclusive, and non-discriminatory leadership are expected.
