The company delivers safe, high-quality and innovative engineering solutions for infrastructure projects across India.Job PurposeThe Procurement Manager will be responsible for managing the complete procurement cycle for construction and infrastructure projects, ensuring timely availability of materials, equipment, services and subcontracting requirements at the right quality, right price and right time.The role requires strong knowledge of civil construction materials, project procurement, vendor management, commercial negotiations and construction-site requirements.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement procurement strategies aligned with construction project and organizational requirements.Manage procurement of civil construction materials, plant & machinery, equipment, consumables, tools, spares and construction-related services.Identify, evaluate, pre-qualify and develop reliable suppliers and vendors specifically relevant to the construction industry.Obtain and compare quotations, prepare comparative statements and negotiate commercial terms.Negotiate price, payment terms, delivery schedules, warranties and other contractual conditions.Issue purchase orders and work orders as per approved requirements and company procedures.Coordinate with Projects, Planning, Civil, Plant & Machinery, Finance, Stores and Administration for procurement requirements.Ensure timely availability and delivery of materials/equipment at construction project sites.Monitor pending purchase orders and follow up with vendors to ensure timely supplies.Maintain an updated construction vendor database, purchase register and procurement tracker.Evaluate vendor performance based on quality, cost, delivery and service.Develop alternate vendors to minimize supply-chain risks and dependency on a single supplier.Ensure procurement is carried out within approved project budgets and company policies.Coordinate with Finance for vendor payments, advances, bills and reconciliation.Support project teams in urgent and critical construction procurement requirements.Verify technical specifications, quantities, BOQ requirements and project requirements before placing orders.Ensure proper documentation of quotations, approvals, purchase orders, invoices, delivery challans and related procurement records.Monitor construction material prices and conduct regular market research and price benchmarking.Identify opportunities for cost reduction, bulk procurement and long-term rate contracts.Ensure compliance with company procurement procedures and applicable statutory requirements.Prepare daily, weekly and monthly procurement reports for management.Handle vendor disputes, shortages, delayed supplies and quality-related procurement issues.Coordinate with Stores to monitor material receipts, shortages and procurement requirements.Maintain effective coordination between procurement and project execution teams to avoid material shortages and project delays.Perform any other procurement-related responsibilities assigned by the management.Educational QualificationBachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (B.E./B.Tech – Civil) from a recognized university/institution is mandatory.Additional qualification in Procurement, Supply Chain Management or Construction Management will be an advantage.Experience8–12 years of relevant procurement/purchase experience in the construction industry is mandatory.Candidates must have hands-on experience in procurement for civil construction, infrastructure, foundation engineering, EPC or related construction projects.Experience in procurement for construction project sites is strongly preferred.Strong experience in construction material procurement, vendor management, commercial negotiation and project procurement is required.Candidates from non-construction industries will not be preferred.Required SkillsStrong knowledge of civil construction materials and construction procurement processes.Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.Good understanding of construction material specifications and project requirements.Strong commercial and analytical skills.Knowledge of Purchase Orders, Work Orders, BOQs, Comparative Statements and procurement documentation.Good understanding of construction material market rates and cost estimation.Excellent coordination and communication skills.Good knowledge of MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint.Knowledge of ERP/procurement software will be an advantage.Strong follow-up and problem-solving ability.Ability to manage multiple construction project procurement requirements simultaneously.Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.Willingness to travel to
