Procurement Manager

A large and well-established Higher Education institution in Falkirk is looking for an experienced Public Sector Procurement professional to head up its procurement team.This is a varied role covering Estates, Facilities Management, ICT and Professional Services, with responsibility for managing procurement activity from tender through to contract management. You will work closely with stakeholders across the Institution, providing practical procurement advice and supporting the delivery of their procurement needs.You will also manage a small team providing support, guidance and mentoring.Responsibilities of the role will include:Lead end-to-end tendering and procurement activity across a range of categoriesDevelop category strategies and manage supplier relationshipsManage contract negotiation, implementation and ongoing contract managementProvide procurement advice and guidance to stakeholdersEnsure compliance with Scottish and UK procurement legislationContribute to sustainable and socially responsible procurement initiativesWork closely with colleagues and wider sector procurement groupsExperience and knowledge required for the role:Strong knowledge of Scottish/UK procurement legislationExperience managing regulated tender processesContract negotiation and management experienceStrong stakeholder management and influencing skillsGood commercial awareness and analytical abilityCIPS membership or working towards this would be advantageousWorking Pattern & BenefitsPermanent, full-time, 9-day fortnight (other flexible working considered)Hybrid working40 Days holidayEnhanced maternity, paternity and shared parental leaveLearning and DevelopmentJoin a community of procurement professionals, attend networking events and sector conferencesRegular performance reviews and career development opportunitiesFunding available for professional and leadership qualificationsIf you would like to discuss this opportunity in more detail, please send your CV today.
