The successful candidate will drive procurement transformation through improved processes, supplier management, commercial negotiations, budget planning, and procurement controls.Initially partnering closely with Finance, the Procurement Manager will help strengthen procurement governance, cash flow visibility, and SAP-driven processes while building a scalable procurement organization capable of supporting continued business growth. The role is expected to lead a team of approximately 3 employees, with anticipated growth to 5 to 6 team members.
Key Responsibilities
Lead sourcing, procurement, and contract management activities supporting capital projects, operations, maintenance, materials, equipment, and construction services.Develop and execute sourcing and category strategies that improve cost, supplier performance, security of supply, and operational efficiency.Partner with engineering, operations, finance, logistics, and project teams to align sourcing strategies with technical and business requirements.Manage procurement of complex technical scopes including mechanical, electrical, fabrication, maintenance, EPC, and construction services.Negotiate commercial agreements, pricing, payment terms, and strategic supplier partnerships to maximize value and improve cash flow.Identify and drive cost-saving opportunities through spend analysis, market intelligence, supplier consolidation, and competitive sourcing.Establish and enhance procurement policies, controls, workflows, and SAP governance processes.Develop procurement budgets, forecasts, and purchasing plans to improve financial predictability and resource planning.Assess supplier markets, risks, and trends to support effective sourcing decisions and supply continuity.Ensure timely delivery of materials and services while resolving supplier performance, quality, contractual, and invoicing issues.Support greenfield and brownfield projects, facility expansions, terminal developments, and geographic growth initiatives.Lead, mentor, and develop procurement team members while building a scalable procurement organization.Partner with senior leadership to transform procurement into a proactive, data-driven, and strategically managed business function.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in supply chain management, Business, Engineering, Finance, or a related field.7+ years of progressive procurement, strategic sourcing, or supply chain experience, including capital projects and construction-related procurement.Experience sourcing complex technical and industrial services, equipment, and project-based contracts.Demonstrated success negotiating commercial agreements and delivering measurable cost savings.Strong understanding of procurement controls, contract management, supplier relationship management, and category strategy.Experience working cross-functionally with engineering, operations, finance, and project management teams.Knowledge of ERP systems, preferably SAP.Proven leadership experience developing teams, processes, and organizational capabilities.Strong analytical, financial, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.Key CompetenciesStrategic Sourcing & Category ManagementContract Negotiation & Supplier ManagementCost Optimization & Value CreationCapital Project & Construction ProcurementCross-Functional CollaborationProcurement Governance & SAP ControlsBudgeting, Forecasting & Cash Flow ManagementSupplier Risk & Performance ManagementTeam Leadership & Talent DevelopmentProcurement Transformation & Continuous ImprovementSesco Cement is an equal opportunity, affirmative action employer providing equal employment opportunities to applicants and employees without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity/expression, national origin, protected veteran status, disability status, or any other legally protected basis, including arrest and conviction records, in accordance with applicable law.Sesco Cement is committed to providing reasonable accommodation to individuals with disabilities.
