The Tsakos team is comprised of highly skilled and committed professionals with extensive expertise in operational, technical, and commercial aspects of the maritime industry.The company is currently seeking to enhance its dynamic team by recruiting a dedicated, high-calibre Procurement Officer to join the workforce.Main duties and responsibilities:Processing requisitions received either from the vessels or from the respectiveTechnical/Marine Superintendent, by initiating the procurement process aiming to ensure delivery of the requested items onboard.Monitoring and processing the vessel’s requisitions once received in order to ensure that all required information is available.Collecting offers from the Company’s designated suppliers, prepare the comparative Matrix for each case separately and submit same for review and approval to the responsible individuals as per Company’s established Chart of Authorities.Issuing Job orders and obtain approval to place a final order from the responsible individuals as per the established Company’s Chart of Authorities. Placing orders upon receipt of all approvals from the responsible individuals as per the established Company’s Chart of Authorities.Coordinating with the Forwarding Officer to forward parts/orders to the vessels.Ensures that the Master has been informed of the delivery and Master confirms receipt of the goods after vessel’s departure from the port.Maintain the computerized Purchasing program.Communicating to the Procurement and Commercial Manager any problems related to purchasing matters and main outstanding purchasing issues.Executing tasks/projects as assigned by the Procurement and Commercial Manager.Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree holder in relevant field of Maritime Studies or Logistics & Supply Chain Management.Working experience at the Procurement Department in a shipping company, will be considered as an advantage.Working experience related to Forwarding services will be considered as an advantage.Excellent command of the English language.Familiar with Purchasing Software and MS Office applications.Experience with KAPA E-PMS, DANAOS and other purchasing applications will be considered as an advantage.Strong organizational and communication skills.Ability to monitor effectiveness, quality and optimal monitoring of supply, cost efficiency.Ability to operate in a fast-paced working environment.Additional Information:If you are looking for a dynamic and leading working environment in the shipping industry and meet the above qualifications, we encourage you to submit your CV.
