Joining PECO MEP means contributing to projects that support critical infrastructure and long-term client relationships across the region.We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Procurement Officer with a strong background in MEP contracting and construction procurement. The successful candidate will be responsible for sourcing materials, obtaining competitive quotations, negotiating with suppliers, preparing Local Purchase Orders (LPOs), and ensuring the timely procurement and delivery of materials required for ongoing MEP projects.The ideal candidate should have good technical knowledge of MEP materials, established supplier relationships in the UAE market, and the ability to manage procurement activities efficiently while maintaining cost control and quality standards.Key ResponsibilitiesHandle end-to-end procurement activities for MEP construction projects, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, drainage, and firefighting materials.Source and identify reliable suppliers, manufacturers, and subcontractors within the UAE market.Obtain, review, and compare quotations to ensure competitive pricing, quality, and compliance with project specifications.Negotiate prices, payment terms, delivery schedules, and other commercial conditions with suppliers.Prepare and process Local Purchase Orders (LPOs) and follow up on approvals.Coordinate with project managers, site engineers, storekeepers, and the estimation team to understand material requirements and delivery priorities.Review material requisitions, BOQs, technical specifications, approved material submittals, and project drawings before placing orders.Ensure materials are procured in accordance with approved specifications, consultant requirements, and project schedules.Follow up with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials to project sites.Monitor pending orders, delivery schedules, back orders, and material availability to avoid project delays.Maintain an updated supplier database, quotation records, purchase orders, and procurement documentation.Verify invoices, delivery notes, and purchase orders in coordination with the accounts and stores departments.Monitor market prices and identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising material quality.Coordinate the return, replacement, or resolution of defective, damaged, or incorrectly supplied materials.Ensure compliance with company procurement procedures, approval limits, and documentation requirements.Prepare regular procurement reports covering purchase orders, pending deliveries, supplier performance, and cost comparisons.Qualifications and ExperienceBachelor’s degree or diploma in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.Minimum 3–5 years of relevant procurement experience in the UAE MEP contracting or construction industry.Strong knowledge of MEP materials, including HVAC equipment, electrical cables, panels, lighting, plumbing materials, valves, pumps, pipes, and firefighting systems.Experience in sourcing materials from UAE suppliers and negotiating competitive commercial terms.Hands-on experience preparing LPOs, comparing quotations, processing material requisitions, and coordinating deliveries.Good understanding of BOQs, material specifications, and technical submittals.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP or procurement management systems.Strong negotiation, communication, coordination, and organizational skills.Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple project requirements simultaneously.Preferred SkillsExisting supplier contacts within the UAE MEP construction market.Experience supporting multiple MEP projects simultaneously.Good understanding of construction procurement procedures and project material planning.Strong cost-control, vendor evaluation, and analytical skills.UAE driving licence is an advantage.
