Procurement Specialist

A leading manufacturing organization is seeking a Procurement Specialist / Buyer to join its Supply Chain team. This position is responsible for sourcing production materials, managing supplier relationships, negotiating pricing, and ensuring inventory levels support uninterrupted manufacturing operations.Key ResponsibilitiesProcure raw materials, MRO supplies, equipment parts, and operational consumables for multiple manufacturing sitesMonitor inventory levels and generate inventory reports to help maintain continuous production flowIdentify, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers while securing competitive pricing and favorable termsCoordinate and track incoming shipments to ensure materials arrive according to production schedulesConfirm receipt of purchased items, investigate discrepancies, and resolve receiving issuesSupport sourcing initiatives through RFQs, RFPs, and supplier bid evaluationsGather pricing information and supplier quotations to support capital equipment purchasesArrange and coordinate external maintenance and service providers as requiredNegotiate supplier agreements, pricing structures, and commercial termsCoordinate equipment and machinery rental requirementsOversee the full purchase order lifecycle, including creation, issuance, monitoring, and closureBuild and maintain strong working relationships with vendors, contractors, and service partnersQualificationsPost-secondary education in Business, Supply Chain Management, Commerce, Economics, or a related fieldPrevious experience in purchasing, procurement, inventory management, logistics, or supplier management within a manufacturing, industrial, or construction environmentAbility to interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specificationsExposure to strategic sourcing and vendor performance managementStrong communication, negotiation, organizational, and time-management skills
