This role leads the full path from apparel concept and design creation through sourcing, production, and delivery, ensuring every product meets standards for design, quality, cost, and timing.Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Product Designer and Manager role located in Fountain Valley, CA. The person in this role will lead the design of apparel and accessories from concept to final product, including mood boards, sketches, technical specifications, and material selection. Day-to-day responsibilities include apparel graphic design, applying design thinking to refine product concepts, and collaborating with cross-functional partners such as production, sourcing, and marketing. The role also involves managing design timelines, coordinating with vendors and manufacturers, overseeing samples and fit reviews, and ensuring products align with brand standards and commercial goals. Key Responsibilities Own the end-to-end apparel development and production calendar, keeping milestones on track from concept to delivery. Develop concepts and create finalized graphics, apparel artwork, and visual assets aligned with Ryoko Rain brand direction.Partner closely with merchandising, design, and manufacturing teams to review tech packs, samples, fittings, and approvals.Prepare production-ready artwork and technical packs that meet manufacturing, screen print, embroidery, and placement specifications.Source and manage global vendors and factories that meet quality, compliance, capacity, and cost requirements.Negotiate pricing, lead times, and terms to support target margins and delivery goals.Manage purchase orders, BOM confirmations, pre-production approvals, and COGS tracking.Oversee goods tracking, logistics coordination, and on-time delivery to distribution centers.Research apparel, fashion, and graphic trends and apply insights appropriately across product categories.Drive continuous improvement across sourcing, vendor management, design execution, and production workflows.Qualifications5-7+ years of experience across apparel production, product development, and/or apparel graphic designStrong visual design and product design skills, with a portfolio demonstrating apparel or streetwear work.Knowledge of fashion design processes, garment construction, and materials, especially in streetwear or luxury apparel.Experience creating tech packs and preparing artwork for print, embroidery, and other apparel applications.Proven ability to manage multiple vendors, projects, and product categories simultaneousl from concept through production.Proficiency in relevant design tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, CAD or fashion design software).Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and comfort working in a fast-paced, on-site environment.Experience collaborating with manufacturers, vendors, and suppliers; familiarity with production processes is a plus.Comfort explaining design concepts and technical details to non-design stakeholders.Flexibility to support occasional work outside regular business hours when needed.Ability to work independently, solve problems proactively, and collaborate across creative and operational teams.CompensationExpected Base Range: $75,000+ USD / year. Exact compensation is determined by candidate qualifications, relevant experience, technical domain expertise, and the level of leadership and delivery ownership required.Contract Engagements: Qualified contractors and project-based consultants will also be evaluated for this scope.
