Product Designer

We're looking for a highly independent, product-minded designer who can take complete ownership of design at Pinegap, spanning Product Design, UI/UX, interaction design, and rapid prototyping.This is not a role where you'll simply receive requirements and turn them into Figma screens. We want someone who can understand complex problems, challenge assumptions, think from first principles, and independently translate ideas into exceptional product experiences. You'll work closely with the founders, product, and engineering teams, with significant ownership over how our products look, feel, and function.Key ResponsibilitiesEnd-to-End Design Ownership: Independently own product design across our web platform, AI agents, research dashboards, and internal tools, from ideation to final implementation.UI/UX & Product Thinking: Translate complex financial research workflows into intuitive, elegant, and scalable user experiences.AI-Native Product Design: Design interfaces for AI-powered products, including conversational experiences, agentic workflows, and human-AI interactions.Rapid Prototyping: Use AI-powered tools to rapidly convert ideas into interactive, functional prototypes and validate concepts before engineering implementation.Design Systems: Build and maintain consistent design systems, reusable components, and interaction patterns.Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work directly with founders, engineers, and product stakeholders to shape product direction and execute design initiatives.Continuous Improvement: Proactively identify UX gaps, recommend improvements, and drive initiatives without waiting for detailed instructions.What We're Looking ForProduct Design ExperienceProven experience designing and shipping complex web-based products, preferably in AI, B2B SaaS, fintech, or enterprise software.Strong understanding of UI/UX principles, interaction design, information architecture, and design systems.Experience working on AI-native products, particularly LLM-powered applications, AI agents, or conversational interfaces.Ability to simplify complex workflows and large amounts of information into clean, intuitive interfaces.Tools & Technical SkillsStrong proficiency in Figma, including advanced prototyping, components, and design systems.Hands-on experience with AI-assisted design and prototyping tools such as Claude, Figma Make, Cursor, v0, Lovable, or similar platforms.Ability to build interactive or functional prototypes using AI-assisted coding tools.Basic understanding of frontend technologies such as HTML, CSS, React, or Tailwind is a strong advantage.Comfortable collaborating with engineering teams and understanding technical constraints.Mindset & OwnershipHigh Accountability: Takes full responsibility for deliverables, timelines, and design quality.Independent Execution: Comfortable operating with minimal supervision and ambiguous requirements.Critical Thinking: Challenges assumptions, asks the right questions, and focuses on solving underlying user problems.Bias for Action: Moves quickly from problem identification to prototypes, testing, and implementation.Product-First Approach: Thinks beyond aesthetics and understands how design impacts usability, adoption, and business outcomes.Proactive Communication: Can independently collaborate with distributed teams and communicate design decisions effectively.Preferred BackgroundExperience working in early-stage startups or high-ownership product teams.Prior experience building AI-powered or data-intensive B2B SaaS products.A strong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end ownership, problem-solving, and shipped products.Experience working directly with founders and engineering teams.Demonstrated ability to use AI tools to accelerate design and prototype development.Why Join Pinegap?Own the Design Function: Take significant ownership of product design and influence the direction of our platform.Build at the AI Frontier: Work on real-world applications of LLMs and AI agents for institutional investment research.Work with Global Customers: Design products used by sophisticated investment professionals and funds worldwide.High-Impact Role: Work directly with founders and engineering teams, with minimal bureaucracy and fast decision-making.Build, Experiment, Ship: Join an environment where ideas can quickly become working products.Important RequirementsThis is a full-time, work-from-office role in Bengaluru.Candidates must be comfortable with working hours that provide meaningful overlap with US Eastern Time.We are specifically looking for someone who can work independently with limited guidance and take end-to-end responsibility for design.A portfolio showcasing product design, problem-solving, and preferably AI-powered prototypes is required.How to ApplyIf you're a product designer who loves solving complex problems, experimenting with AI tools, and building products from scratch, we'd love to hear from you.Please share your CV, portfolio, and examples of AI-powered prototypes or products you've worked on at hiring@pinegap.us
