Product Engineer — AI Creative Platform

POPCORN Studio is seeking a hands-on Product Engineer to build AI-powered creative tools for video, images and audio. Working from our Cairo office, you will collaborate with the CTO, product and design teams to take features from an initial idea through implementation, testing and release. Responsibilities

• Build complete product features across frontend interfaces, backend services and data persistence.
• Develop responsive interfaces with React, Next.js and TypeScript.
• Build and integrate APIs, authentication, databases and third-party AI services.
• Implement reliable generation workflows, including queues, asynchronous jobs, status updates, retries and error handling.
• Help clarify requirements, propose practical solutions and make sound product and technical trade-offs.
• Write maintainable code, meaningful tests and clear documentation.
• Investigate production issues and improve performance, reliability and user experience. Requirements
• Experience shipping production web applications and owning features end to end.
• Strong JavaScript/TypeScript skills and practical experience with React and Node.js.
• Experience building APIs and working with relational databases such as PostgreSQL.
• Understanding of testing, Git, code review and secure software development.
• Ability to work through ambiguous requirements and communicate clearly with product and design colleagues.
• Professional working English.
• Availability to work full-time, on-site at our Cairo office. Preferred qualifications
• Experience with Next.js and AI-model APIs or LLM integrations.
• Python experience for AI integrations or backend services.
• Experience with video, media processing, editors or creative tools.
• Experience with background jobs, queues, streaming responses, observability or cloud infrastructure.
• Experience in a startup or product team where you owned delivery and supported features after release.
