Apply & track with Apply EdgeAbout the jobAbout firstbriqfirstbriq is building an AI-powered platform that fixes how Indians plan, price, and execute home interiors — an industry defined by chaos, opacity, and cost overruns. We serve homeowners with planning and estimation tools and vendors with SaaS to run their business. Small team, high AI leverage, shipping fast.About the roleWe're not hiring you to write code from someone else's designs. We're hiring you to help build a product end-to-end. You’re expected to think through a feature, sketch how it should work, design the interface, write the code, ship it, test it, and improve it.You'll work directly with the founder on real product decisions. You'll use modern AI tools (Cursor, Claude Code, Copilot, v0, Figma AI, just to name a few) across every stage of your work and compress the distance from idea to working feature aggressively. You don't need to be an expert at UX or engineering. You need enough fundamentals across both, real curiosity, and the ability to figure things out. This isn't a role for someone who only wants to code from predefined tickets or designs. It's also not a pure design role. We're looking for someone who wants to get their hands dirty across the entire product-building process. What you'll actually doProduct & UXTranslate product requirements into user flows and basic wireframesThink through user journeys before writing codePropose UI solutions in Figma and iterate with the founderSpot usability issues in existing features and suggest fixesUI design & implementationConvert wireframes into polished, responsive interfacesApply firstbriq's brand guidelines consistentlyBuild reusable components using shadcn/ui or similar librariesWeb developmentBuild and ship frontend features in React / Next.jsIntegrate REST APIs and handle loading, error, and empty statesBuild dashboards and internal toolsDeploy and maintain features in a production environmentEnsure responsive behaviour across desktop, tablet, and mobileCode quality & cleanupWork with firstbriq's existing production codebase, which is a meaningful part of the roleRefactor redundant or inconsistent code, improve component reusabilityMaintain consistent structure and documentationFix bugs and improve reliabilityAI-assisted development (a layer across everything above): AI tools will be used across product exploration, UX, UI, coding, debugging, testing, and documentation, and not as a separate stage.Use AI coding tools as part of daily workflow, not as a noveltyUnderstand, review, and test AI-generated code rather than blindly accepting itUse AI to understand unfamiliar parts of the codebasePrototype UI and features using AI-assisted design toolsExperiment with Agentic AI workflows where usefulYou don't need AI expertise on day one, but you need the willingness to work AI-in-the-loop by default. AI tools make understanding a codebase far faster than it used to be — we expect you to use them.Week 1–2: Get set up, understand the codebase with AI assistance, and ship your first small fix or component. Get comfortable with our workflow.Day 30: Take ownership of a feature end-to-end (wireframe to production) with guidance where required.Day 60: Ship features with increasing independence, contribute to product decisions, and drive code quality improvements.Beyond: Propose new ideas, own larger surfaces, and grow into a founding-team role if things click.LogisticsDuration: Minimum 3 months, extendable to 6 months for strong performersMode: Hybrid (Bengaluru preferred; remote considered for exceptional candidates)Time commitment: Full-time preferred, minimum 30 hrs/weekReports to: Founder directlyConversion: Strong performers will be offered full-time roles as firstbriq scalesHow to applySend us: GitHub profile or portfolio linkOne thing you've built (personal project, hackathon, freelance — anything counts)Any AI tools you've used and what you built with themSelection process: Portfolio review → 30-min call → small take-home task → founder interviewApply to: talent@firstbriq.com
