Product Lead – AI-Native Accounting Platform (Seed Stage)New York, NY · Full-time · On-site · $150K–$200K + equityAbout our clientOur client is a venture-backed, seed-stage startup building a vertical agent orchestration platform for accounting firms. Their product helps accounting teams coordinate work alongside AI agents, automating large parts of month-end close, bookkeeping, tax, and audit. The long-term vision is a financial platform and back office for small and medium-sized businesses, powered by a network of accounting firms and AI agents.They are a founder-led team of 10, hiring their first dedicated Product Lead. You’ll work directly with the CEO and CTO every day and have an outsized impact on the product, culture, and direction of the company.The roleOur client is looking for someone with deep accounting or finance expertise who wants to turn that knowledge into lasting products. You’ll own outcomes from discovery through delivery, with no layers between you and the customers.What you’ll doOwn product discovery and customer development: run user interviews, map processes, and shape the roadmap with the CEO and CTOWork hands-on in the platform (for example, closing the books) and turn that experience into product insights and prioritiesDefine product requirements with product engineers, and build evals methodology and datasets with Applied AI engineers to improve AI reliabilityDesign and ship small to medium-sized customer-facing features using coding agents and AI workflows (no engineering degree required)Analyze production workflows to make sure the AI performs at a state-of-the-art level across close, bookkeeping, tax, and auditDrive UI/UX decisions and uphold a very high bar for product and design qualityWhat our client is looking for4–8 years of experience in accounting, tax, audit, finance, or consulting, or as a PM in one of the Big 4 or similar.Ideally experience as a firm owner, Chief of Staff, or operating generalist making a deliberate move into PE/VC backed early stage startups.Comfortable working directly with customers and translating complex financial workflows into product decisionsBase level UI/UX design and built something with AI coding agents.Familiarity with tools such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, Xero, Sage, Alteryx, Excel/VBA, and SQLCompensation and logistics$150,000–$200,000 base salaryMeaningful early-stage equity (4-year vesting, 1-year cliff), calibrated individually to experience and fitIn-office in New York City 4–5 days per weekRelocation support availableOpen to visa transfers (e.g., OPT, H-1B)If you know accounting inside out and want to build the AI-native tools the profession needs, get in touch to find out more
