Production Manager

Role Description This part-time remote Production Manager role supports the planning, coordination, and delivery of educational and research-related outputs for the department. The Production Manager will oversee production schedules for course materials, digital content, and laboratory resources, ensuring timely, high-quality delivery aligned with academic and research timelines. Responsibilities include coordinating with faculty, teaching assistants, and technical staff; managing workflows for multimedia and written materials; and ensuring compliance with institutional standards and quality guidelines. The role involves tracking progress against milestones, resolving bottlenecks, optimizing processes, and documenting best practices for repeatable production cycles. The Production Manager will also contribute to continuous improvement of production tools and methods to support scalable, efficient operations in a remote-first environment.QualificationsExperience in production or project management, including planning, scheduling, and resource coordination for educational, technical, or media outputs.Skills in workflow design and process optimization, with the ability to identify risks, manage dependencies, and maintain quality under tight timelines.Strong organizational and communication abilities, including clear written documentation, stakeholder coordination, and remote collaboration.Comfort with digital tools and platforms used for content management, version control, and virtual teamwork (e.g., project management software, shared drives, collaboration suites).Background or familiarity with engineering, healthcare, or academic environments is beneficial, particularly in systems, biomedical, or technical education settings.Demonstrated ability to work independently in a remote setting, prioritize tasks effectively, and adapt to evolving requirements and multiple concurrent projects.Bachelor’s degree in engineering, management, communications, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience in production or operations roles.Commitment to inclusive, non-discriminatory practices and supportive collaboration with diverse faculty, staff, and students.
