Production Manager

Manufacturing/ Full time/ Newcaslte upon Tyne/ circa £55,00/ + bonus on target achievement.We are looking for an exceptional Production Manager to take responsibility for the day-to-day performance of our manufacturing operation.This is a hands-on management role for someone who enjoys being close to production, understands how to organise people and machinery effectively, and takes personal responsibility for getting the job finished properly and on time.Your responsibilityYou will have overall responsibility for planning and controlling production, working closely with our Foreman and a team of approximately 15 production employees.You will be responsible for:Creating and maintaining daily and weekly production plansAllocating labour and machine capacity effectivelyEnsuring production targets and delivery dates are achievedMonitoring productivity, quality, waste and downtimeIdentifying and removing production bottlenecksManaging and developing the production teamWorking closely with purchasing, sales and managementMaintaining high standards of housekeeping, quality and health & safetyIntroducing practical Lean/continuous-improvement initiativesProducing clear production reports and KPIsTaking ownership when production falls behind plan and putting it back on trackThe personWe are looking for someone who has genuinely managed a manufacturing operation rather than someone who has simply held a managerial title.You will need:Proven manufacturing/production management experienceExperience managing a teamStrong planning and organisational abilityExcellent understanding of production flowAbility to prioritise under pressureA practical, hands-on management styleGood communication and people-management skillsA track record of improving productivity, delivery or qualityMost importantly, you will be someone who sees a problem on the factory floor and thinks:"How do we fix this?"rather than simply reporting it.What we offer£55,000[pension & Bonus on achievement targetsGenuine responsibility and authorityOpportunity to make a measurable difference to the operationIf you are an experienced Production Manager who enjoys taking ownership and building an efficient, disciplined production operation, we would like to hear from you.
