Production Manager – ManufacturingCoventry | £55,575–£56,810 + 7.5% Bonus + Excellent Benefits | 4 on 4 off Continental ShiftsYou will likeLeading production and people for a world-class manufacturer at a major, highly invested manufacturing facility in Coventry, West Midlands.This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Production Manager, Production Shift Manager, Manufacturing Manager or Shift Manager to join a major global organisation offering impressive facilities, excellent benefits and genuine long-term career progression.Based at a large manufacturing site in South Coventry, close to Middlemarch Business Park, Coventry Airport and Baginton, you will take ownership of a production area and lead approximately 40–60 people, ensuring safe, efficient and high-quality manufacturing performance.The role works a 12-hour continental shift pattern: 4 days on, 4 days off, 4 nights on, 4 nights off.You will likeThe Production Manager job itself, where you will take responsibility for people and operational performance across your production area.This is first and foremost a leadership role: setting direction, developing people, solving problems and making effective decisions within a complex, fast-paced manufacturing environment.More specifically, you will:Lead, coach and develop approximately 40–60 frontline production employeesTake ownership of production performance, safety, quality and peopleChampion a strong safety culture and safe working practicesProtect product quality and maintain high manufacturing standardsManage attendance, conduct and individual/team performanceDeliver meaningful 1-to-1s, coaching and employee developmentUse production data and KPIs to understand and improve performanceSolve operational problems and make confident decisionsBalance competing priorities within a demanding production environmentWork collaboratively with engineering, operations and other stakeholdersTake ownership and accountability when senior management is not immediately availableYou will haveTo succeed as Production Manager / Production Shift Manager, you will be an established people leader with experience gained within a sizeable, complex manufacturing, engineering or operational environment.You will demonstrate:Strong manufacturing or production management experienceLeadership of sizeable frontline, shop-floor or operational teamsExcellent coaching and people-development capabilityConfidence managing performance and difficult conversationsStrong safety, quality and operational awarenessStructured problem-solving and decision-making skillsExperience working with production data, KPIs and performance measuresConfidence making decisions with incomplete informationOwnership, accountability and sound judgement under pressureExcellent communication and stakeholder-management skillsFood or FMCG experience is not essential. Relevant backgrounds could include FMCG, food manufacturing, automotive, aerospace, engineering, process manufacturing, heavy manufacturing or other complex/high-volume production environments.
