Avidity Science is looking for a Production Supervisor to join our Operations team at our facility in Long Crendon, Buckinghamshire.This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for coordinating the day-to-day activities of our Production team. You'll play a key role in prioritising work, supporting team performance, maintaining quality standards, and helping ensure customer orders are delivered on time while fostering a safe and productive working environment.Role Location & Working PatternLocation: Long Crendon, Buckinghamshire (HP18 9BA)Hours: Monday to Friday, 8am-4pmRole Type: Full-time, on-siteYou'll need to live within a reasonable commutable distance and have an existing right to work in the UK.Why Avidity Science?Competitive Package: Salary up to 35k dependent on experience, plus bonus opportunity.Great Benefits: 25 days holiday (plus public holidays), pension contributions matched up to 8%, private healthcare, life assurance, enhanced family leave, and more.Leadership Opportunity: Take a key role in supporting the performance, development, and success of our Production team.Hands-On Environment: Combine operational leadership with practical involvement in assembly, testing, packing, and dispatch activities.Supportive Team Culture: Join a collaborative business that values accountability, teamwork, continuous improvement, and employee development.Training & Development: Access ongoing support and development opportunities to help you grow your leadership and technical skills.Your RoleAs a Production Supervisor, you will:Coordinate and prioritise daily production activities in line with operational requirements and production schedules.Act as the first point of escalation for day-to-day operational and technical queries within the Production team.Provide visible day-to-day leadership, coaching, technical guidance, and constructive feedback.Monitor progress against production plans and escalate capacity, material, or delivery risks where required.Lead daily Production Visual Management meetings and ensure actions are tracked and followed through.Support the Operations Delivery Manager by providing operational input into probation, performance, and development discussions.Monitor attendance, punctuality, wellbeing, and conduct, escalating concerns in line with company procedures.Undertake assembly, testing, packing, and dispatch activities when required while maintaining oversight of team priorities.Operate production equipment and hand tools safely and in accordance with established procedures.Promote and maintain high standards of health and safety, safe working practices, and 5S compliance.Ensure production activities comply with Management System procedures, work instructions, and ISO 9001 requirements.Identify, contain, record, and escalate production non-conformances and quality issues.Support root-cause investigations and the implementation of corrective actions.Assist with the introduction of new products, processes, and continuous improvement initiatives.Support audits, training activities, and induction processes for Production team members.Work closely with Planning, Purchasing, Quality, Engineering, Warehouse, and other departments to ensure efficient production delivery.Perform other duties as assigned.What We're Looking ForWe're looking for someone who can balance hands-on production work with effective team coordination and leadership. You'll be organised, proactive, technically minded, and passionate about helping others succeed.Helpful ExperienceExperience working within a production or manufacturing environment involving assembly and testing activities.Experience coordinating work, providing day-to-day direction, or leading others in a production setting.Experience operating production equipment and using hand tools safely.Mechanical and/or electrical experience, ideally within a manufacturing environment.Previous experience in a similar organisation or industry.An electro-mechanical engineering qualification would be beneficial.What Matters MostStrong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise work effectively.Excellent attention to detail and quality standards.Advanced fault-finding and problem-solving abilities.Confidence providing guidance, coaching, and constructive feedback to colleagues.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Good IT literacy and ability to work with production-related systems and documentation.Understanding of health and safety requirements and safe working practices.Ability to interpret and apply procedures, work instructions, and escalation processes.A positive, proactive, and collaborative approach to work.The ability to remain calm and effective when managing competing priorities.Working ConditionsThis role is an on-site position. Attendance at our Long Crendon facility will be required to support close collaboration with Production, Warehouse, Engineering, Quality, and other key business functions.
