Apply & track with Apply EdgePRODUCTION SUPERVISOR - CPG (consumer packaged goods) COMPANY - GREATER TORONTO AREACompensation: $75,000 to $85,000 salary range + a performance bonusThe OpportunityOur client, an established and very well-respected consumer packaged goods manufacturing company, is seeking an experienced Production Supervisor to join its operations team in the Greater Toronto Area.Reporting to a senior member of the Operations team, the Production Supervisor will provide day-to-day leadership and direction to employees within a fast-paced manufacturing environment for a designated daily shift (Monday to Friday only). The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting safe, efficient and consistent production while ensuring established quality, food safety and operating standards are maintained.This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on manufacturing leader who enjoys working closely with employees, solving operational challenges and contributing to the ongoing improvement of plant performance. A customer-service-orientation and a high sense of urgency will be required for this role, as well as a good degree of flexibility and an openness to new production concepts.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide day-to-day leadership, coaching and direction to production employees for a designated daily shift (Monday to Friday only)Coordinate production activities to support daily operating requirements and production targets.Ensure appropriate staffing and labour utilization within assigned areas.Monitor production performance and address issues that may impact safety, quality, efficiency or output.Ensure compliance with company policies, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and applicable food safety requirements.Promote and maintain a strong health and safety culture throughout the operation.Support appropriate sanitation and housekeeping standards within production areas.Work collaboratively with Maintenance and other plant functions to address equipment issues and minimize operational downtime.Identify opportunities to improve productivity, efficiency and overall manufacturing performance.Support continuous improvement initiatives within the facility.Lead or participate in regular team meetings and communicate operational priorities to employees.Provide coaching, feedback and support to employees while promoting accountability and teamwork.Respond effectively to changing production requirements and operational issues as they arise.QualificationsAt least 2-3 years of shift supervisory or team leadership experience within a manufacturing environment, ideally within food, beverage or another consumer packaged goods operation.Previous experience leading and developing front-line production employees.Good understanding of manufacturing processes and production operations.Knowledge of GMPs, HACCP and/or other food safety and quality programs.Strong commitment to workplace health and safety.Experience working within a unionized manufacturing environment is considered an asset.Strong communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.Demonstrated ability to coach and motivate employees.Ability to make sound decisions and respond effectively to operational challenges.Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and general production/operational systems.
