month, all-inclusive packagePosition OverviewWe are looking for an experienced VX Operator to join the Technical Department of a premium resident live entertainment production in Dubai.The VX Operator will be responsible for the operation, programming support, maintenance, and troubleshooting of the production’s video playback, media servers, projection systems, displays, and visual effects technologies during rehearsals, live performances, special events, and other production activities.This is a hands-on live-show position requiring strong experience with WATCHOUT or comparable professional media servers, projection systems, video routing, synchronized playback, and cue-based theatrical productions.Key ResponsibilitiesShow OperationOperate media servers, video playback systems, projection equipment, and visual systems during rehearsals and live performances.Execute video and visual cues accurately and consistently according to approved cue sheets and production documentation.Monitor playback systems throughout performances to ensure uninterrupted show operation.Coordinate closely with Lighting, Audio, Automation, Stage Management, and Show Management to maintain accurate cue synchronization.Participate in technical rehearsals, cue-to-cues, programming sessions, and production updates.Media Server & Video SystemsOperate and maintain WATCHOUT media servers and associated playback systems.Load, organize, verify, and prepare all media content before performances.Maintain show files, system backups, and version control.Configure playback sequences, cue lists, timelines, and synchronization as required.Monitor system performance and troubleshoot playback issues quickly during live performances.Assist with programming changes and content updates when required.Projection & Display SystemsOperate projection systems, displays, monitors, and associated visual equipment.Perform projector alignment, calibration, focus, edge blending, and image correction where required.Monitor projector performance and image quality throughout rehearsals and performances.Ensure all visual and display systems operate according to approved production standards.Technical MaintenanceConduct daily pre-show system inspections and operational checks.Troubleshoot video, projection, networking, synchronization, and playback issues.Perform preventative maintenance on media servers, projectors, playback hardware, and related equipment.Maintain technical documentation, maintenance logs, equipment inventories, and backup procedures.Immediately report technical faults that may impact production quality, reliability, or safety.Production SupportAssist with installation, testing, upgrades, and strike of production video systems.Support rehearsals, corporate events, media shoots, promotional activities, and special events.Support other technical departments during maintenance periods and operational requirements.Contribute to a collaborative, solution-focused technical team environment.Qualifications & ExperienceMinimum 5 years of professional experience within theatre, resident productions, concerts, live entertainment, or large-scale events.Proven experience operating WATCHOUT media servers or comparable professional media-server systems.Strong understanding of projection systems, video playback, and media synchronization.Experience with professional video routing, switching, signal distribution, and display technologies.Understanding of video codecs, media formats, and playback optimization.Experience working within cue-based theatrical productions.Familiarity with show-control systems and synchronized multimedia environments.Basic knowledge of networking for media and AV systems.Experience maintaining media-server hardware and associated equipment.Ability to read technical drawings, signal-flow diagrams, and production documentation.Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills under live-show conditions.Excellent organizational and communication skills.Ability to work evenings, weekends, public holidays, rehearsals, and special events.Preferred ExperienceExperience operating WATCHOUT within a resident theatrical production.Experience with projection mapping and multi-projector systems.Familiarity with grandMA3, lighting integration, and show synchronization.Experience with AV-over-IP, Dante, NDI, or similar networked media systems.Experience with media encoding, content preparation, and playback optimization.Experience within luxury entertainment venues, theatres, dance productions, cabaret, or immersive productions.Experience working alongside international artistic and technical teams.What We’re Looking ForThe successful
