Apply & track with Apply EdgeFinal compensation is dependent on experience and qualifications.Position Summary:Our client is seeking an experienced professional affairs manager on the East Coast to expand its relationships and professional engagement within the U.S. eye-care community.Reporting to the U.S. Head of Sales, this role will lead Key Opinion Leader (KOL) engagement initiatives, develop strategic relationships with eye-care professionals and professional organizations, and support scientific education, product launches, advisory boards, and industry events.The ideal candidate brings direct eye-care industry experience, strong clinical credibility, and an established network of relationships within ophthalmology and optometry.
Responsibilities
Identify, engage, and develop relationships with leading eye care Key Opinion Leaders.Lead KOL mapping and relationship-development initiatives across assigned therapeutic areas.Build partnerships with ophthalmologists, optometrists, professional societies, and teaching institutions.Organize and support eye-care professional advisory boards, expert meetings, and educational initiatives.Coordinate professional engagement activities, including associated contracts and event schedules.Represent Scope at major ophthalmology and optometry conferences, congresses, and trade shows.Partner with Sales, Medical Affairs, and Marketing to support product education and commercial initiatives.Contribute to pre-launch, launch, and post-launch product activities.Support continuing education, clinical presentations, and scientific engagement programs.Develop relationships with doctor partner groups and other influential professional communities.Gather HCP feedback and product testimonials to support marketing and educational initiatives.Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging professional engagement opportunities.Contribute to HCP compliance procedures and professional engagement best practices.Collaborate with the Professional Affairs Manager-West to execute national strategies.Ensure professional engagement initiatives align with broader business objectives.Experience:Direct experience within the eye-care/ophthalmology industry.Bachelor's degree in business management or life sciences, or 6+ years of ophthalmology experience.3–5 years of relevant sales support, professional engagement, or consumer/marketing experience.Strong understanding of ophthalmology therapeutic areas and the eye-care professional landscape.Professional experience in the pharmaceutical or related eye-care industry.Experience developing and maintaining relationships with healthcare professionals and industry stakeholders.Ability to understand and communicate scientific and clinical product information.Strong project-management, organizational, and execution skills.Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal communication.Demonstrated ability to collaborate across Sales, Medical Affairs, and Marketing.Experience supporting products through pre-launch, launch, and post-launch phases.Ability to manage complex initiatives independently.Willingness to travel approximately 60%.Preferred Skills & Experience:Previous professional affairs experience specifically within eye care.Established relationships with ophthalmology/optometry KOLs and professional societies.Experience organizing advisory boards, scientific meetings, and educational events.Experience supporting medical education or continuing education programs.Background in pharmaceutical, medical-device, or ophthalmic healthcare products.Experience working with teaching institutions and professional associations.Familiarity with HCP compliance requirements and industry engagement standards.Experience managing professional engagement activities at national industry conferences.A strong understanding of clinical research, product differentiation, and therapeutic innovation.At Premier Talent Partners, we are a people-centered recruitment firm with a strong focus on skills-based hiring.
