Job Description – Professor-cum-Director – School of Banking, Financial Services and Insurance (SBFSI)Position OverviewWe are seeking an accomplished, academically distinguished, and experienced academic leader for the position of Professor-cum-Director for the School of BFSI.The ideal candidate should have a strong academic and research profile, along with proven experience in academic leadership, faculty management, program development, industry engagement, and institutional administration. The candidate will be responsible for providing strategic academic and administrative leadership to the School and strengthening its academic excellence, industry relevance, research orientation, and overall institutional growth.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide strategic academic and administrative leadership for the School of Banking, Financial Services and Insurance and its academic programs.Lead the planning, development, implementation, and continuous improvement of programs related to Banking, Financial Services, Insurance, Finance, FinTech, and allied areas.Monitor teaching-learning processes, including regular class monitoring, teaching quality, curriculum implementation, student engagement, and learning outcomes.Lead, mentor, and manage faculty members and academic teams, including faculty workload allocation, performance monitoring, mentoring, and professional development.Develop and strengthen industry linkages with banks, financial institutions, insurance companies, NBFCs, FinTech organizations, capital market institutions, and other relevant industry bodies.Promote industry-integrated learning through internships, live projects, guest lectures, certifications, industry visits, and practitioner-led learning initiatives.Drive research, publications, consultancy, funded projects, case studies, and other scholarly activities within the School.Guide and mentor faculty members in research and doctoral activities.Ensure academic and regulatory compliance with applicable higher education standards and institutional policies.Contribute to NAAC, NBA, and other accreditation and quality-assurance initiatives, wherever applicable.Support the development of new academic programs, specializations, certifications, and interdisciplinary initiatives aligned with emerging industry requirements.Monitor student progression, academic performance, faculty performance, and overall School-level academic outcomes.Prepare and review academic plans, performance reports, MIS, and other reports required by senior management.Coordinate effectively with senior leadership and various institutional departments to ensure smooth academic and administrative operations.Represent the School and institution at academic, professional, industry, and institutional forums.Contribute to enhancing the academic reputation, industry visibility, research profile, and overall growth of the School.Qualifications & ExperiencePh.D. in a relevant discipline from a recognized university/institution is mandatory.The Ph.D. should have been awarded on or before 2018.Minimum 10 years of overall academic experience is required.Minimum 3–4 years of experience in the Professor cadre is mandatory.Successfully guided at least 2 Ph.D. scholars is mandatory.Strong experience in academic administration, faculty management, curriculum development, and academic program leadership is preferred.Experience in Banking, Financial Services, Insurance, Finance, Management, Economics, FinTech, or related disciplines will be preferred.Experience in a university, higher education institution, business school, management institute, or comparable academic environment will be an advantage.Research & Academic ProfileSuccessfully guided at least 2 Ph.D. scholars is mandatory.Strong publication record in reputed national and international journals will be preferred.Experience in funded research projects, consultancy, industry research, case studies, or academic publications will be an added advantage.Demonstrated contribution to research, academic development, and knowledge creation is expected.Key CompetenciesStrong academic and institutional leadershipExcellent faculty and team-management capabilitiesStrong understanding of Banking, Financial Services and Insurance sectorsAcademic administration and program managementStrong research orientation and scholarly excellenceIndustry-academia relationship buildingStrategic planning and decision-makingExcellent communication and stakeholder-management skillsAbility to drive innovation and industry-oriented academic initiativesStrong commitment to academic quality, integrity, and institutional excellence
