Professor of Practice/Adjunct Faculty/Visiting Faculty

Alliance University invites applications from experienced industry professionals and accomplished academicians for the positions of Professor of Practice, Adjunct Faculty, and Visiting Faculty to teach and mentor students in the areas of Java Programming, Full Stack Development, and Data Structures & Algorithms.The ideal candidate will bring strong practical expertise, teaching/mentoring capability, and the ability to connect academic concepts with real-world industry applications.Candidates may be considered for one or more of the following areas:Java Programming and Advanced JavaObject-Oriented ProgrammingData Structures and AlgorithmsFull Stack Web DevelopmentFront-End Development – HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React/AngularBack-End Development – Java, Spring Boot, REST APIsDatabase Management and SQLSoftware Development and Application DesignProgramming Practices, Version Control and Software EngineeringIndustry-oriented projects, case studies and practical assignmentsKey ResponsibilitiesDeliver engaging and industry-relevant lectures, tutorials, laboratory sessions and workshops.Develop and deliver course content aligned with programme learning outcomes.Incorporate practical coding exercises, live projects, case studies and real-world applications into teaching.Mentor students on programming, software development and industry projects.Conduct assessments, evaluate assignments/projects and provide constructive feedback.Guide students in developing problem-solving and coding skills.Support capstone projects, internships and industry-oriented academic initiatives.Collaborate with full-time faculty members in curriculum enhancement and course delivery.Contribute to seminars, workshops, hackathons, boot camps and other academic/industry engagement activities.Bring current industry practices, tools, technologies and emerging trends into the classroom.Desired Qualifications & ExperienceFor Professor of Practice15+ years of professional experience in software development, technology, IT or related domains.Strong industry expertise in Java, Full Stack Development, Data Structures & Algorithms or related areas.Demonstrated experience in leading technology projects, teams or technical initiatives.Prior experience in teaching, corporate training, mentoring or academic engagement will be preferred.Candidates with substantial industry experience and strong professional achievements may be considered.For Adjunct / Visiting FacultyMaster's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Applications, Engineering or a relevant discipline.Candidates with a Ph.D. will be preferred for appropriate academic roles.Relevant academic or industry experience in the respective teaching area.Strong programming and technical skills with the ability to explain concepts effectively.Prior teaching, training or mentoring experience will be an advantage.Skills & CompetenciesStrong expertise in Java and object-oriented programming.Strong understanding of Data Structures and Algorithms.Hands-on knowledge of Full Stack Development.Excellent coding, problem-solving and analytical skills.Ability to deliver practical, application-oriented learning.Strong communication and presentation skills.Ability to engage and mentor undergraduate and postgraduate students.Familiarity with current software development tools, frameworks and industry practices.EngagementThe engagement may be offered on a Professor of Practice, Adjunct Faculty, or Visiting Faculty basis, depending on the candidate's qualifications, professional experience and institutional requirements.Location: Alliance University, BengaluruEngagement: Part-time
