This role is well-suited for a proactive professional with strong project management capabilities, stakeholder engagement skills, and a passion for designing impactful development programs.Key ResponsibilitiesProgram & Project ManagementLead end-to-end management of assigned programs, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.Develop detailed work plans, logical frameworks, and Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) plans for program activities.Provide comprehensive planning and implementation support across all phases of the project.Monitor program progress, identify risks or roadblocks, and implement timely corrective measures.Oversee administrative functions including budgeting, documentation, reporting, and compliance.Program Development & InnovationLead the development of new program concepts, models, and strategies aligned with organizational goals and community needs.Identify gaps and emerging needs to conceptualize innovative, impactful, and scalable program interventions.Pilot and test new methodologies, tools, and approaches for continuous program improvement.Support proposal development and contribute to designing evidence-based program frameworks.Operational & Field CoordinationManage day-to-day program operations, including team coordination, resource allocation, and troubleshooting.Coordinate logistics for trainings, review meetings, workshops, and field visits.Support and oversee baseline, midline, and endline assessments to ensure data quality and program refinement.Facilitate knowledge sharing, document best practices, and contribute actively to organizational learning.Stakeholder EngagementServe as the liaison between state, central teams, partners, and other key stakeholders.Build and maintain strong relationships with community groups, government agencies, and implementing partners.Mentor and supervise field staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.Reporting & ComplianceEnsure timely and accurate reporting to internal teams, donors, and other stakeholders.Track expenditures, maintain financial accountability, and ensure compliance with donor and organizational guidelines.Core Competencies (Program & Project coordinator)1. Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning (MEL)Skilled in developing and applying logical frameworks, M&E tools, and data-driven approaches to improve program performance and impact.4. Stakeholder Engagement & CoordinationProven experience in building collaborative relationships with government agencies, community groups, partners, donors, and internal teams.5. Communication & ReportingExcellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to prepare high-quality reports, presentations, and proposal inputs.6. Financial & Compliance OversightCompetence in managing budgets, tracking expenditures, ensuring accountability, and maintaining compliance with donor and organizational requirements.7. Team Leadership & Capacity BuildingAbility to mentor, guide, and supervise field staff, fostering a positive, high-performance team environment.8. Problem-Solving & Decision-MakingStrong analytical thinking with the ability to identify risks, troubleshoot operational challenges, and implement timely corrective measures.9. Adaptability & ResilienceComfort working in dynamic, fast-paced, and rural environments with the ability to handle pressure, multitask, and travel extensively.10. Cultural Sensitivity & Community OrientationUnderstanding of rural contexts, community dynamics, and commitment to inclusive, participatory development approaches.Required Skills & Qualificationso   Master’s degree in Development Studies, Social Sciences, Project Management, International Relations, or a related field (strong bachelor’s degree with solid experience may be considered).o 5–7 years of proven experience in program management within the development/non-profit sector, including project cycle management.o   Demonstrated experience in program development, proposal writing, and designing innovative interventions.o   Strong understanding of project management principles, logical frameworks, M&E systems, and results-based management.o   Minimum 2 years’ experience in field coordination and stakeholder engagement, preferably in rural contexts.o   Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and relevant project management or data analysis tools.o   Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.o   Fluency in English and Hindi; knowledge of regional languages is an added advantage.o   Ability to multitask, meet tight deadlines, and work both independently and in fast-paced environments.o   Willingness for extensive field travel, often on short notice, and comfort working in rural settings with basic facilities.o   Prior experience in donor reporting, compliance, and financial monitoring is highly desirable.o   Commitment to a minimum two-year engagement with the projectSafeguarding CommitmentAPSS Foundation is committed to safeguarding and protecting the rights of children, youth, and vulnerable adults.
