This position oversees the planning, development, and delivery of recreational and educational programs that serve youth and community needs. Daily responsibilities include managing program schedules, engaging volunteers, ensuring safety and quality standards, and monitoring budgets and participation metrics. The Program Director collaborates with community partners, leads outreach and member engagement efforts, and evaluates programs to improve effectiveness and accessibility. This role also involves regular communication with leadership, preparing reports, and contributing to strategic planning for future programs.QualificationsExperience in program management, including planning, implementation, and evaluation of community or recreational programs.Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to supervise, coach, and develop staff and volunteers.Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage participants, families, partners, and colleagues effectively.Proficiency in basic administrative and organizational tasks, such as scheduling, budgeting, and reporting.Ability to work on-site, maintain a visible presence during programming hours, and adapt to a dynamic environment.Commitment to inclusive, non-discriminatory practices and creating welcoming experiences for participants from varied backgrounds.Relevant experience in recreation, youth development, education, or nonprofit program delivery; YMCA or community organization experience is a plus.Bachelor’s degree in recreation management, education, social sciences, or a related field preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
