This is a high-profile strategic leadership position, responsible for shaping the programme vision, establishing effective governance and driving implementation readiness for a single, structured and real-time healthcare record. Working closely with Executive Teams, senior clinical stakeholders, digital leadership and the Integrated Care Board (ICB), you will play a key role in taking the programme through business case development, procurement, implementation planning and ultimately transition into business as usual.ResponsibilitiesProvide strategic leadership and overall programme direction for the joint EPR transformation.Lead the development, approval and delivery of the Full Business Case (FBC).Establish effective programme governance, reporting, risk management and assurance frameworks.Build strong relationships with Executive Boards, clinical leaders, operational teams and digital stakeholders.Work closely with the ICB and wider healthcare partners to ensure strategic alignment.Lead and coordinate procurement activity, supplier engagement and implementation planning.Oversee programme readiness across areas including data migration, clinical engagement, workflow optimisation and organisational change.Ensure the programme remains aligned with clinical priorities, digital strategy and wider transformation objectives.Develop strong collaboration and ownership across the organisations involved.Provide clear and credible reporting to senior leadership, ensuring risks, dependencies and key decisions are appropriately managed.Required SkillsProven experience leading large-scale EPR, EHR, digital health or clinical transformation programmes within the NHS or wider healthcare environment.Strong understanding of enterprise EPR programmes, including business cases, procurement, governance and implementation.Experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder programmes across NHS Trusts, ICS/ICB environments or similar healthcare organisations.Demonstrable experience engaging and influencing Executive Boards, clinicians, operational teams and technology suppliers.Strong understanding of digital transformation, organisational change and implementation readiness.Experience across areas such as data migration, integration, clinical workflow and transition into operational delivery.Strong programme leadership, stakeholder management and governance experience.We are looking for a credible and experienced digital transformation leader who can operate confidently at Executive level while bringing together clinical, operational and technical stakeholders. You will be comfortable navigating complex environments, managing competing priorities and building consensus across multiple organisations. Importantly, you will be someone who can provide clear strategic direction while ensuring the programme remains grounded in practical delivery. This role would suit an experienced EPR Programme Director, EPR Programme Lead, Digital Transformation Director or senior clinical systems leader who has successfully delivered or shaped major healthcare technology programmes.This is an opportunity to take ownership of a strategically significant EPR transformation programme, working across organisational boundaries to shape the future digital healthcare environment. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to influence the programme from its early strategic and business case stages through procurement, implementation readiness and ultimately into operational delivery.
