Job OverviewWe are seeking a detail-oriented Project Accountant to support the financial and accounting activities of an event project under the supervision of the Finance Manager.The role will focus on maintaining accurate project records, tracking expenses and commitments, reviewing supporting documents, coordinating invoices and payments, and preparing regular financial updates. The position is suitable for an early-career accountant who is organized, accurate, and able to follow established financial procedures.Key ResponsibilitiesMaintain accurate accounting records for project-related transactions.Update project budgets, expense trackers, payment schedules, and financial reports.Record and classify project expenses according to the approved chart of accounts.Review supplier invoices, quotations, purchase orders, contracts, and supporting documents.Verify that payment requests contain the required approvals and documentation.Coordinate with suppliers and internal teams regarding invoices, payment status, and missing documents.Prepare payment requests and submit them to the Finance Manager for review and approval.Track project commitments, actual expenses, outstanding payments, and remaining budgets.Assist with bank, supplier, petty-cash, and project-account reconciliations.Maintain organized electronic and physical financial files.Support the preparation of project cash-flow updates and payment forecasts.Assist in monitoring advances, reimbursements, and employee expense claims.Ensure that invoices and financial documents meet applicable VAT and company requirements.Identify discrepancies, duplicate invoices, unsupported expenses, or budget variances and report them to the Finance Manager.Support month-end closing and the preparation of management reports.Assist during internal reviews, audits, and final project financial closure.Coordinate with the project management, procurement, operations, and administration teams.Maintain confidentiality of all financial and commercial information.Perform other accounting and financial support duties assigned by the Finance Manager.Qualifications and RequirementsMinimum of 1 year of relevant accounting or project-finance experience.Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.Priority will be given to Saudi nationals.Proficiency in Arabic and English, both written and spoken.Good knowledge of basic accounting principles and financial documentation.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and other Microsoft Office applications.Ability to prepare and maintain budgets, expense trackers, reconciliations, and payment records.Strong attention to detail and accuracy.Good organizational, communication, and follow-up skills.Ability to manage multiple documents, transactions, and deadlines.Ability to work under the supervision of the Finance Manager and follow approved procedures.Familiarity with accounting systems or ERP platforms is preferred.Previous experience in projects, events, procurement, or supplier payments is preferred.Flexibility to work from the project office or event location when required.
