Project Accountant – Architecture & EngineeringLocation: New York, NYCompensation: $80,000–$100,000 + Multiple Bonus OpportunitiesAbout the OpportunityOur client is a growing, award-winning architecture, engineering, environmental and surveying consultancy with more than 160 professionals.They are seeking a Project Accountant to support a portfolio of public and private projects. Reporting to the Controller, this individual will be responsible for project setup, budgeting, billing, revenue recognition, financial reporting and collections.This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing multidisciplinary firm while retaining a predominantly remote working arrangement.ResponsibilitiesMaintain accurate financial records for assigned projects.Review contracts and establish projects within Deltek.Enter and maintain project budgets, billing terms and financial data.Monitor costs, budgets, WIP and project profitability.Determine appropriate revenue recognition.Prepare and issue invoices in accordance with contract requirements.Generate client statements and follow up on outstanding receivables.Partner with Project Managers on budgets, billing status and financial performance.Support month-end and year-end close, including reconciliations and variance analysis.Prepare schedules and supporting documentation for audits.Identify billing issues and maintain strong internal controls.RequirementsOne to four years of project-accounting experience.Previous experience supporting NYSDOT projects is required.At least two years of Deltek Vision or Vantagepoint experience.Understanding of project setup, budgeting, billing and revenue recognition.Strong Excel skills, including lookups, pivot tables and reconciliations.Knowledge of GAAP and project-based accounting.Strong analytical, organizational and communication skills.Ability to work independently and collaborate with Project Managers and senior leadership.Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline preferred.Surveying-project experience is advantageous.BenefitsPredominantly remote working arrangement.Medical, dental and vision insurance.401(k) with a 5% company contribution or match.Multiple bonus opportunities.Exposure to major transportation, infrastructure, architecture and surveying projects.Long-term development within a growing multidisciplinary consultancy.Contact Padraig at HireIQ for a confidential discussion.
