Project Accountant

Project AccountantOur client is an established residential and commercial developer delivering master-planned communities across Metro Vancouver and the Fraser Valley. With a growing portfolio spanning townhomes, condos, single-family and commercial projects, they are looking to add a Project Accountant to their finance team.The RoleWorking closely with the Director of Finance and project teams, the Project Accountant will manage day-to-day accounting across multiple active development projects, including job costing, draws, budgeting and financial reporting.Key ResponsibilitiesMaintain project budgets, job costing and forecastsProcess construction draws, holdbacks and lender reportingReview and code project invoices and manage APPrepare monthly cost reports, variance analysis and cash flow forecastsSupport month-end and year-end close, accruals and journal entriesTrack GST/HST, lien holdbacks and progress billingWork with project teams to review budget-to-actual variancesSupport lender compliance, year-end reporting and financial analysisWhat You Bring2–5 years of accounting experience, ideally within real estate development, homebuilding or constructionDegree or diploma in Accounting, Finance or BusinessCPA designation or progress toward CPA is an assetUnderstanding of job costing and construction drawsStrong Excel skillsExperience with Yardi, Sage 300, Jonas, Acumatica or similar systems is an assetStrong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple projects
