Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Construction Accountant to join their growing team. This role is ideal for an accounting professional with experience in construction accounting, job costing, project-based accounting, and financial reporting who enjoys partnering closely with operations and project teams.ResponsibilitiesManage full-cycle accounting activities, including month-end and year-end close.Prepare and post journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements.Track and analyze project costs, job profitability, and work-in-progress (WIP) schedules.Maintain job cost records and ensure costs are properly allocated.Process accounts payable, accounts receivable, and subcontractor payments.Support billing activities, including progress billing, T&M billing, retention billing, and AIA billing when applicable.Assist with payroll processing, including certified payroll and prevailing wage reporting.Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and general ledger accounts.Partner with project managers to review budgets, forecasts, change orders, and project financial performance.Assist with audits, compliance reporting, and tax-related activities.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.3+ years of accounting experience, ideally within construction, engineering, development, architecture, or project-based environments.Strong understanding of job costing, project accounting, WIP schedules, and financial reporting.Experience with AP, AR, payroll, reconciliations, and month-end close.Experience with certified payroll, lien releases, change orders, and construction billing preferred.Proficiency with construction and project accounting systems such as Deltek Ajera, Deltek Vision, Deltek Vantagepoint, Deltek Costpoint, Sage 100 Contractor, Sage CRE 300 (Timberline), CMiC, Viewpoint Vista, Foundation, Procore, or QuickBooks.
