LHH is partnering with a growing construction company who is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Project Accountant to support the financial management of multiple construction projects. This role will partner closely with Project Managers, Operations, and Finance leadership to ensure accurate project cost tracking, billing, budgeting, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate will bring strong construction accounting experience, expertise with AIA billing, and a collaborative, solutions-focused approach.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare, process, and manage monthly AIA billing, including G702 and G703 forms.Monitor project costs, budgets, commitments, and forecasts to ensure financial accuracy and project profitability.Analyze project financial performance and investigate cost variances.Maintain and reconcile project-related accounts, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and work-in-progress schedules.Collaborate with Project Managers and other cross-functional teams to ensure accurate job costing and timely financial reporting.Review subcontractor billings, lien waivers, sworn statements, and supporting documentation.Assist with change order tracking and contract administration.Prepare project financial reports and provide insights to support operational decision-making.Support month-end and year-end close activities related to project accounting.Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.Utilize ERP systems to manage project financial data and improve reporting efficiency.Contribute to process improvements and support special projects as assigned.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.3+ years of accounting experience within the construction industry preferred.Strong understanding of construction accounting principles, job costing, and project cost management.Hands-on experience with AIA billing.Experience working with ERP systemsStrong Microsoft Excel skills.Ability to read and understand construction contracts and supporting project documentation.Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams.Self-starter with a positive, can-do attitude.PerksCompetitive compensation and benefits package.
