Planned across multiple delivery phases, WDDP brings together AI-ready data centres, energy infrastructure and a purpose-built campus environment to support the continued growth of cloud computing and artificial intelligence.The roleThe Project Accountant will provide accurate and timely accounting support for Western Downs Digital Park. Reporting to the Senior Project Accountant, you will maintain project financial records, process and reconcile project expenditure, support month-end reporting and help ensure the integrity of information used by Zerra DC's finance and project teams.Based in Brisbane and working closely with colleagues supporting WDDP, this is a hands-on role for an accountant who is comfortable working with detailed project data and following transactions through to resolution. You will support a major, multi-year development as it moves into delivery, while helping establish the practical systems, controls and reporting disciplines required by a growing finance function.What you will leadAccurate accounting records for WDDP and its relevant Australian project entities, with transactions correctly coded and supported.Processing and reconciliation of project expenditure, invoices, purchase orders, payments, journals, accruals and prepayments in accordance with approved controls.Bank reconciliations and supporting schedules for cash movements, project balances and intercompany transactions.Month-end and quarter-end close support, including reconciliations, journals, variance information and project accounting schedules.Project-spend reporting and tracking of actual costs, commitments and cash requirements against approved budgets and forecasts.GST and BAS preparation support and maintenance of records required for tax, audit and statutory reporting.Resolution of coding, invoice, commitment and payment queries with Development, Construction, Commercial, Project Controls and Procurement teams.Supplier and contractor financial records and effective invoice approval and payment workflows.Accurate data for cash-flow forecasts, funding requests, management reports and investor or consortium reporting packs.Organised, audit-ready documentation and continuous improvement of accounting systems, cost structures, reporting templates and finance procedures.What you will bringYou will be a capable, detail-oriented accountant who enjoys working close to a project and taking ownership of the information behind each transaction. You will bring sound accounting fundamentals, strong follow-through and the confidence to work constructively with finance and project colleagues.At least five years of accounting or finance experience, ideally within property development, infrastructure, construction, energy or another project-based environment.Practical experience with project accounting, transaction processing, reconciliations, journals, accruals and month-end close.Experience preparing or supporting GST, BAS and other routine Australian finance compliance activities.Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail, with the discipline to investigate discrepancies and follow issues through to resolution.Competence in Excel and accounting systems, with the ability to work confidently with large volumes of project and transaction data.The ability to organise competing deadlines and deliver reliable work in a fast-moving project environment.A practical, hands-on mindset and willingness to help establish processes in a growing organisation.A degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related discipline, with CA, CPA, ACCA or equivalent qualification completed or in progress.Experience supporting a large real estate development, logistics, data centre, construction programme or complex project entity will be highly regarded.The opportunityThis role offers direct exposure to the financial delivery of a major new digital infrastructure campus.
