Apply & track with Apply EdgeWe are productising a wireless and wired network controller platform. The platform runs today and is deployed on real hardware in our lab. The engineering team is small and highly specialised, and its scarcest resource is uninterrupted engineering time. That is the problem this role solves. Hardware arrives, gets moved, gets shipped to a customer, comes back for return authorisation, and nobody is certain what we own or where it is. Vendor commitments are made on calls and then quietly missed. Site installations need a date, a shipment, an install window and a punch list. None of that is engineering work, and all of it currently lands on engineers. You are not being hired to manage engineers. You are being hired to make sure that when an engineer needs a unit, a serial number, a firmware file or a vendor answer, it is already there.
Key Responsibilities
Asset register at serial level. Every access point, switch and gateway we own: model, serial, media access control address, firmware version, physical location, and current state. Reconciled against the controller's own device list rather than maintained by hand - the controller already knows what is connected, and the discrepancies between the two lists are exactly the thing worth finding.Vendor dependencies. Quotes, lead times, return authorisations, firmware releases and support cases. Every open item has an owner, a committed date and a chase date. Nothing waits on someone remembering it.Site rollout coordination. Pre-staging, shipping, install windows, on-site access, and a written punch list per site that closes rather than fading out.Programme tracking. One status that is actually true. What changed, what is at risk with a date and an owner, and what decision is needed - short enough that it gets read.Protecting specialist time. Run the scheduling, the chasing, the paperwork and the logistics so that the engineering team does not. Success in this role is measured partly in engineering hours you gave back.Required experience:Coordinated technical projects with real physical dependencies - hardware, shipping, installation windows - not software-only delivery.Fluent with technical detail without needing to configure anything: serial numbers, media access control addresses, firmware versions, VLANs, rack locations. You are not asked to be an engineer; you are asked never to garble what an engineer told you.Vendor and supplier management: chasing commitments, escalating on a schedule rather than on frustration, and getting dates in writing.A tracking tool used properly and kept current - Jira, OpenProject, Smartsheet or equivalent.Written communication that a busy executive can act on in thirty seconds.Valuable but not required:Networking, telecommunications or managed service provider background.Shipping, customs, warranty and return-authorisation logistics.Lab or field inventory management, including asset tagging.Enough scripting or application programming interface familiarity to reconcile two lists without doing it by eye. What success looks like in the first 90 daysA complete serial-level asset register, reconciled against the controller's device list, with every discrepancy either resolved or explicitly owned.A vendor dependency list where every open item has an owner and a date, and no row is unowned. One site rollout coordinated end to end, with a written punch list that closed.A weekly status the engineering team stopped correcting. What We OfferAt GuestTek, you won’t just have a job, you will have the opportunity to build your career while working with innovative technology and a global team.Competitive compensation and comprehensive benefitsOpportunities for career growth and professional developmentExposure to innovative technology, AI, cybersecurity, and global projectsCollaborative and supportive work environmentOpportunities to work with teams and customers around the worldChallenging projects that make a real impactA culture that values innovation, teamwork, and employee contributions
