Employment Type: Full-TimeFLSA Classification: ExemptJob SummaryThe Project Cost Accountant I supports project accounting setup, maintenance, and administration within Viewpoint Vista ERP.

This role works closely with Project Controls, Accounting, Payroll, and Operations teams to help ensure projects are set up accurately and financial information is maintained throughout the project lifecycle.This is an excellent opportunity for an early career accounting professional seeking to build experience in construction accounting, project controls, and ERP systems.Essential Job ResponsibilitiesProject Setup & Data MaintenanceAssist with project setup in Viewpoint Vista, including jobs, contracts, phases, and cost types. Maintain project information and reporting fields within Vista. Update project statuses, team assignments, and other project attributes as directed. Help ensure project records remain accurate and current throughout the project lifecycle. Support project closeout activities and document archiving. SharePoint Job Folder AdministrationCreate project folders in SharePoint using company standards. Maintain consistent job folder structures and naming conventions. Ensure project documentation is organized and accessible. Assist project teams with storing and maintaining required project records. Budget & Change Order SupportEnter project budgets into Vista. Assist with processing approved budget revisions and change orders. Maintain accurate records of budget updates and project changes. Verify information is properly documented and approved before entry. Subcontract Administration SupportAssist with entering subcontract information and amendments into Vista. Help maintain subcontract records and supporting documentation. Track required subcontract compliance documents such as insurance certificates and lien waivers. Support subcontract closeout activities. Transaction Review & Month-End SupportAssist with reviewing project-related invoices and expense coding. Support Accounts Payable and Project Controls teams with transaction accuracy. Research and help resolve coding or posting discrepancies. Assist with month-end close activities and reporting preparation. Compliance & Administrative CoordinationLearn and follow company and project-specific compliance requirements. Support documentation related to prevailing wage, tax requirements, and insurance programs. Coordinate with Payroll, Accounting, and Operations teams to ensure required project information is communicated. Maintain project records needed for audits and reporting. Cross-Functional CollaborationWork collaboratively with Project Controls, Accounting, Payroll, and Operations teams. Follow established processes and internal controls. Support continuous improvement initiatives and system enhancements. Perform additional duties as assigned. Key Qualifications0-2 years of accounting, construction administration, project coordination, or related experience preferred. Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial data. Experience with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications. Exposure to ERP systems (Viewpoint Vista experience is a plus but not required). Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Willingness to learn construction accounting and project financial processes. EducationAssociate's degree or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Construction Management, or a related field preferred. Equivalent combination of education, internship experience, or related administrative/accounting experience will be considered.
