Project Director – Damascus Airport (EPC) – Syria

Location: Damascus, SyriaSector: Aviation / Infrastructure / EPC Major ProjectsWe are currently recruiting on behalf of a leading client delivering a major EPC airport construction programme in Damascus, for an experienced Project Director to lead full project delivery.The RoleAs Project Director, you will take complete ownership of the EPC delivery of the airport programme — from engineering and procurement through to construction and commissioning/handover.

You will act as the senior client-facing representative on site, leading multidisciplinary teams and ensuring the project is delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to international quality standards.Key ResponsibilitiesLead end-to-end EPC delivery of airport terminal/airside/airfield works — engineering, procurement, and construction phasesManage the interface between design, procurement, and construction teams to ensure seamless EPC executionOversee project controls, budgets, schedules, subcontractor/vendor management, and risk across the full EPC lifecycleManage relationships with client, consultants, EPC contractors, and relevant aviation regulatory authoritiesDrive HSE culture and ensure compliance with international and local aviation construction standardsRepresent the project at executive/stakeholder level, including government and regulatory bodiesLead, manage, and mentor a large multidisciplinary project team on-site in DamascusRequirements15+ years' experience in major construction/infrastructure projects, with essential hands-on EPC experience (Engineering, Procurement & Construction contract delivery)Proven experience specifically in airport/aviation infrastructure (terminals, airside, airfield) — essentialTrack record as Project Director/Project Executive on large-scale EPC projects (250M+ USD preferred)Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related fieldProfessional accreditation preferred (PMP, MRICS, CEng, or equivalent)Experience working in the Middle East region; willingness and ability to be based on-site in Damascus, Syria — essentialStrong leadership, stakeholder management, and cross-cultural communication skillsComfortable operating in a challenging/emerging market environment
