Project Director – MechanicalNewcastle, NSWMajor Mission Critical ProjectA rare opportunity has become available for an experienced Project Director to join one of Australia's leading national Tier 1 mechanical contractors and take the lead on a major mission-critical project in the Newcastle region.This is a significant, career-defining project and requires someone capable of taking overall ownership of the mechanical delivery, driving the project forward and leading a large, experienced delivery team.The business operates nationally and has built a strong reputation for delivering some of Australia's largest and most technically complex mechanical projects across mission critical, healthcare, infrastructure and major commercial environments.The RoleAs Project Director, you will have overall responsibility for the successful mechanical delivery of the project.Due to the scale and complexity of the job, you will have a full project team underneath you including multiple Project Managers, Project Engineers, Site Managers and wider delivery personnel.Your role will be to lead that team, drive the programme and commercial performance, manage senior client relationships and ensure the project continues moving in the right direction.This isn't a role focused on the day-to-day responsibilities of an individual package. You will be looking across the entire project, ensuring your teams are performing and taking ownership of the overall outcome.Key Responsibilities

• Overall leadership of mechanical delivery across a major mission-critical project
• Lead and manage Project Managers, Engineers, Site Managers and wider project teams
• Drive programme, commercial and operational performance
• Maintain oversight of project budgets, forecasting, procurement and contractual performance
• Manage senior client, builder, consultant and stakeholder relationships
• Ensure project teams are appropriately structured and resourced
• Identify and manage project risks before they impact delivery
• Drive accountability and performance across the project leadership team
• Work closely with senior business leadership throughout delivery
• Ensure the project is delivered safely, commercially and to the required quality standardsAbout YouThis role will suit someone already operating at a senior level who has successfully delivered major mechanical or building services projects.You could currently be working as a Project Director, Construction Manager, Senior Project Manager or similar senior delivery position and be ready to take ownership of a project of this scale.Ideally, you will bring
• Strong mechanical/HVAC contracting experience
• Proven experience delivering major projects
• Experience managing large multidisciplinary project teams
• Strong commercial and contractual understanding
• Excellent leadership and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to operate effectively with senior clients and project stakeholders
• Experience across mission critical, major infrastructure, healthcare or other technically complexprojectsPrevious data centre experience would be advantageous, but isn't essential. Major project leadership experience and the ability to successfully drive a complex project will be the priority.What's On Offer
