Job purposeWe are seeking a dynamic Project Engineer to manage the technical and project management aspects of assigned Sofis projects. As the primary point of contact for both internal and external stakeholders, you will oversee the scheduling, planning, forecasting, and management of all technical activities, ensuring project accuracy, quality, and timely delivery. You will translate commercial agreements into technical scopes, assemble technical packages for production, and keep clients informed of manufacturing progress, planning for delivery and documentation submission. You will proactively communicate with a collaborative mindset, ensuring stakeholders remain informed, aligned, and engaged throughout the project lifecycle.Duties and responsibilitiesIncorporate Technical Requirements: Ensure that all technical requirements defined within the sales contract are accurately reflected in the engineering deliverables.Data Collection & Review: Gather and evaluate technical data from clients, valve suppliers, sub-suppliers, and the service department.Client Advisory: Provide expert advice to customers on various technical aspects of products, including operating sequences, markings, and engineering best practices.Technical Datasheet Creation: Develop technical datasheets for custom-built products that meet customer expectations, guiding factory production.Delivery Coordination: Communicate delivery timelines for the scope of supply, enabling efficient service planning.Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Coordinate interfaces between internal and external teams, such as collaborating with service planners and engineers on measurement and installation scopes in cooperation with clients.Cross-Departmental Communication: Facilitate effective communication across departments to meet project objectives and business needs.Documentation Management: Work closely with the Document Controller to ensure client documentation is prepared and submitted according to requests and milestones.Scope & Quality Management: Handle project scope changes, provide site service feedback, and support QA in managing nonconformities (NCRs).Continuous Improvement: Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives within the organization.QualificationsThese are the qualifications that are necessary to be considered for the position and successfully perform the job:Relevant Education: You preferably hold a bachelor’s degree in mechanical or industrial engineering and/or have significant experience in Project Engineering or Management, particularly in mechanical or process equipment.Language Proficiency: You are fluent in English, with strong written and verbal communication skills, enabling you to interact professionally and effectively with international clients.Organized & Detail-Oriented: You are meticulous, ensuring tasks are completed with a high level of accuracy.Ability to Multitask: You excel in multitasking and thrive under pressure to meet deadlines.Industry Experience: Experience in the Energy, Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Chemical, Refining, or Water industries is a plus.Digital Proficiency: You are proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint, enabling effective project planning, reporting, and data analysis. Working knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 as an ERP is considered an added advantage.Working conditions This role is based at our head office in Alphen aan den Rijn, The Netherlands, and reports to the Head of Projects within the Operations Organization.This role is primarily office-based and involves extensive use of computer systems for project coordination, documentation, and communication.
