Project Engineer

Job Purpose:To provide proactive project management and support the company’s developments by managing the project plans, establishing project criteria, and coordinating project reviews to ensure high-quality time delivery of projects and programs. Lead key project deliverables and coordinate with internal departments and external stakeholders in the progress and execution of key deliverables within the set AJVA policies and procedures and standard professional standards.Key Activities:

• Follow the day-to-day operations related to own job to ensure continuity of work
• Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of processes and practices considering ‘international best practice’, improvement of business processes, cost reduction, and productivity improvement
• Assist in the preparation of timely and accurate reports of Project status to meet company and department requirements, policies, and standards
• Manage the planning, organizing, and control of projects to ensure that the project cycle is completed meeting agreed project parameters (cost budget, timelines, scope, and quality) while maintaining expected quality standards.
• Lead and participate in a broad range of project coordination activities associated with the preparation, review, and evaluation of plans and specifications.
• Assist the Department Manager in the review of Contractor quotations to ensure that only fair and reasonable pricing is recommended for approval.
• Monitor, analyze, and report on budgets and forecasts to the Department Manager, highlighting any variances, and providing suggestions for resolution.
• Manage project plans (sometimes multiple plans) & Schedules using various project management tools, review plans regularly to ensure tasks and milestones are being achieved promptly and within budget.
• Take an active part in the project issue/risk management process, by contributing to identifying and prioritizing existing and potential issues and risks and helping the Support Service Manager develop strategies and controls to mitigate these.
• Assist the Department Manager in the drafting and issuance of project proposals, letters of Intent, Purchase orders, RFPs, tenders, budgets, cash flows, and preliminary schedules.
• Ensure all required permits and kick-off documents for the project are secured through follow-up and identifying proper channels to secure these permits.
• Support manager in negotiating and revisions of prices, changes, and additions to contractual agreements with architects, consultants, suppliers, and contractors.JOB SPECIFICATIONS:Industry / Domain : Civil EngineeringNecessary Knowledge and Experience : 2 - 4 years of relevant experience in Project Management.Education and Certification Requirements : Bachelor’s degree Civil Engineering.Expert in AutoCAD.Expert with building BOQ.English & Computer.
