Project Engineer

As part of our long-term growth strategy and ongoing fleet expansion, we are strengthening our New Building Team and invite experienced professionals to apply for the position of Project Engineer.

Location: 📍 Athens → China (shipyard)You'll start at our Head Office in Piraeus during plan approval and pre-construction, then relocate to China to join the Site Team for construction, commissioning and delivery.Reports to: Project ManagerKey Responsibilities🏢 Athens – Pre-Construction / Plan ApprovalSupport the Newbuilding Team in the review of drawings, specifications and technical documentation.Follow up plan approval with Class, Flag, Shipyard and relevant Makers.Review technical queries, deviations and design changes.Develop a thorough understanding of the vessel’s design, systems and specifications prior to construction.Participate in project and technical meetings and follow up assigned actions.🏗️ China – Shipyard PhaseSupport the Site Manager in monitoring vessel construction, outfitting and commissioning.Check compliance with approved drawings, specs and Owner’s requirements.Attend inspections, tests and commissioning activities as required.Follow up technical issues and defects until they 're closed outCoordinate with Shipyard, Class, Makers and Owner’s representatives.Track progress, schedule and key construction milestones.Support sea trials and final vessel delivery.Prepare technical reports and progress updates for the Head Office.✅RequirementsBachelor Degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering or Mechanical EngineeringMinimum 3 years of relevant experience in shipbuilding, newbuilding, ship management or marine engineering.Good understanding of shipbuilding processes and marine systems.Experience with technical drawings, specifications and Class requirements.Strong analytical, organizational and communication skills.Ability to work effectively in a multicultural and international environment.Willingness to relocate to China for the construction phase of the project.⭐ Experience with LNG, LPG or other gas carriers is a strong plus.Want to work for one of the most competitive and dynamic groups in Greek shipping?📩 Send your CV to hr@capitalgas.gr!
