Project Engineer - Control & Protection

About the CompanyOur client is a leading international engineering consultancy delivering major power transmission and energy infrastructure projects. They provide specialist engineering services across high-voltage networks, supporting utilities and developers as they modernize electricity grids and integrate renewable energy.The RoleDue to continued growth, our client is looking to appoint a Project Engineer – Secondary Systems to support the delivery of high-voltage transmission projects. The role focuses on the design, coordination, and implementation of Protection & Control systems for onshore and offshore substations.Key ResponsibilitiesManage technical activities relating to Protection & Control systems.Prepare, review, and coordinate schematics and engineering documentation.Support the development and improvement of technical standards and engineering guidelines.Coordinate contractors, suppliers, and multidisciplinary project teams throughout project delivery.Monitor project progress, budgets, and technical performance.Witness and support Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) for Protection & Control systems.Assess technical solutions and support engineering decisions for new and existing HV substations.RequirementsDegree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Engineering, Control Engineering, or a related discipline.Experience with Protection & Control systems within high-voltage substations.Knowledge of HV transmission infrastructure up to 400kV.Experience with STATCOM, SVC, reactive power compensation systems, or similar technologies is advantageous.Proficient in Microsoft Office; familiarity with SAP or asset management systems is beneficial.Fluent German (C1) and good English (B2+) are essential.Full driving licence and willingness to travel when required.What's on OfferPermanent position with a competitive salary and benefits package.Opportunity to work on major transmission and renewable energy infrastructure projects.Collaborative international engineering environment.Excellent training, professional development, and long-term career progression opportunities.If this position could be of interest, please get in touch: jlewis@vallumassociates.com
