Project Engineering Manager

KAPES is the joint venture between KEPCO and GE Vernova, delivering large-scale HVDC transmission projects in Korea and abroad.We are looking for a Project Engineering Manager to own a defined engineering scope on complex HVDC projects, under the supervision of a PEM and alongside a multidisciplinary, international team. As part of the Project Engineering (PE) team, you will interface daily with the customer, with GE Vernova’s global engineering centers across Europe, the US, and Asia, and with domestic partners and suppliers, reporting directly to the PE Team Leader.What You Will DoYou will own a scope of engineering works, ensuring alignment with project goals in terms of safety, schedule, cost, quality, and technical requirements.Manage and deliver your assigned sub-discipline engineering scope in line with the global project schedule, accountable for delivery KPIs including on-time delivery (OTD) and engineering performance.Ensure coherency between engineering activities and procurement, construction, and commissioning — anticipating and mitigating delivery issues on critical activities.Consolidate and maintain the Master Document List (MDL) for your scope, manage document return status, and drive the required follow-up actions.Enforce the change management process on any deviation from the reference solution, and prepare supporting material for variation orders and claims.Manage technical interfaces with the customer, partners, and third-party contractors; analyse customer requirements, contribute to clause-by-clause analysis, and drive Technical Queries (QnR) to closure.Support customer technical meetings and multidisciplinary design reviews; conduct risk reviews with the PEM and maintain the risk register with mitigation plans.Apply unit and project quality procedures, resolve non-conformances, and support Return on Experience (RoE).What You BringBachelor’s degree or above in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, Electronics, Automation, or a related field.Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in project engineering within an EPC environment — power transmission, substations, power generation, or comparable industrial infrastructure.Solid understanding of the engineering project lifecycle and of technical interfaces across disciplines.Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams and multiple stakeholders.Working proficiency in English — technical documentation, email, and video conferences with international engineering centers and partners.Ability to travel domestically and internationally, approximately 20% of the time.Nice to HaveExperience with HVDC converter stations (LCC and/or VSC technologies).Experience on 345kV and above substations, FACTS, or grid integration projects.Experience within international consortia or global matrix organizations; Professional Engineer (전기기사 / 전기기술사) or PMP certification.Recruitment ProcessApplication Submission : 2026. 9. 14 ~ 9. 27Document Screening : 2026. 9. 28 ~ 9.30Personality Test : 2026. 10. 31st Interview : mid OctoberFinal Interview : late October1st InterviewSelection of candidates : document screening grade-converted score (70%) + personality assessment score (30%), converted to a total of 100%Candidates are selected in order of highest score, up to 5 times the number of positions to be filled (in the event of a tie, tied candidates are included, and up to 5 times the number of positions is selected in order of highest score).Interview types : personality interview, practical/job competency interview, presentation interview, English interviewEnglish interview score is not included in the interview average score; however, applicants scoring below the minimum passing score will be disqualified.Final InterviewSelection of candidates : based on the arithmetic mean of interview scores, candidates are selected by overall ranking, up to 3 times the number of positions to be filled.Interview type : executive interviewBased on the arithmetic mean of interview scores and overall ranking, final successful applicants are selected at 1 times the number of positions to be filled.Document SubmissionDownload application forms and reference materials: https://drive.google.com/file/d/17WMzlXNjlI0lKQxa0WYSwD8QXz40Pgxq/view?usp=drive_linkSubmission method : e-mail (recruit@kapes.co.kr)Required documents: 1) Application Form, Personal Statement(Cover Letter), and Consent Form in the company's prescribed format (file name: Name_Field of Application_Newcomer/Experienced) The Consent Form must be printed, signed by hand, and submitted as a scanned copy or photo file 2) Certificate of Employment(Career Certificate) and Career Description/Work History StatementInquiries : KAPES Planning & Management Office, 070-4652-6061
