Project Manager -380 kv Substation (Electrical)

We are looking for an experienced Project Manager – 380kV Substation to manage the complete execution of high-voltage substation projects. The role will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering projects in line with SEC requirements, contractual obligations, safety standards, quality requirements, budget, and schedule.The ideal candidate should have strong experience managing 380kV GIS/AIS Substation projects for an EPC contractor, with hands-on exposure to engineering coordination, procurement, construction, testing, commissioning, and project handover.Key ResponsibilitiesManage the complete execution of 380kV Substation projects from project mobilization through testing, commissioning, and handover.Lead and coordinate engineering, procurement, construction, testing, and commissioning activities.Monitor installation and commissioning of major equipment including GIS, power transformers, switchgear, protection and control systems, SCADA, cables, and auxiliary systems.Ensure project execution complies with SEC standards, approved drawings, specifications, contractual requirements, and applicable international standards.Prepare and monitor project schedules, milestones, manpower requirements, and resource plans.Coordinate with clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, engineering teams, and internal stakeholders.Monitor project progress, cost, quality, safety, and overall performance.Identify project risks, delays, technical issues, and interface challenges and ensure timely corrective actions.Manage subcontractors and ensure their work meets project requirements, schedule, quality, and HSE standards.Review project reports, progress updates, technical submissions, and project documentation.Conduct regular project meetings and provide clear progress updates to senior management and clients.Support commercial and contractual matters including variations, claims, change orders, and project correspondence.Ensure successful testing, energization, commissioning, final documentation, and project handover.QualificationsBachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering / Power Engineering.Minimum 12–15 years of overall experience in high-voltage substation projects.Strong experience managing 380kV Substation projects.Previous experience working with an EPC contractor is highly preferred.Experience managing projects for Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) is highly preferred.Saudi Council of Engineers registration is preferred for candidates working in Saudi Arabia.Required SkillsStrong knowledge of 380kV GIS/AIS substations and HV systems.Experience in project planning, execution, monitoring, testing, commissioning, and handover.Good understanding of GIS, transformers, protection systems, control systems, SCADA, and associated substation equipment.Strong subcontractor and stakeholder management experience.Good understanding of project schedules, budgets, risks, contracts, and change management.Strong knowledge of HSE and quality requirements.Good leadership, communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.Ability to manage multiple project interfaces and work under demanding project schedules.Preferred ExperiencePrevious SEC 380kV project experience.Experience delivering complete EPC Substation projects in Saudi Arabia or the GCC.Experience managing projects from engineering and procurement through construction, testing, commissioning, energization, and final handover.
